r/fuckcars / Not Just Bikes / Urbanists / New Urbanism / Car-Free / Anti-Car - People and grifters who hate personal transport, freedom, cars, roads, suburbs, and are obsessed with city planning and urban design

are overheating in their car because their car has no A/C since the engine is shut off
most cars with ASS (lol. auto start/stop) aren't using the serpentine belt to run the ac anyways. so the ac keeps running even when the engine is stopped
in addition, in most regulatory environments ASS is allowed to be disabled in situations where cabin temp is affected.

the bad ASS experience is just automakers half assing it for regulatory compliance/credits. many such cases
They're also slow to pull away after the light turns green because they need to wait for their engine to turn back on.
most ASS shipped today uses the vehicle ADAS sensors to restart the engine when the light turns green or the car in front pulls away. so before you even take your foot off the brake, the engine is started

planned obsolescence bullshit to wear out the starter faster
starter motors are reinforced, and they're very long lived. a "strong hybrid" arrangement, where there is no starter and the electric motor is attached to the driveshaft, is increasingly common.

And it doesn't even save gas either.
yes, it does, although it's much more effective in urban areas

tldr stop buying american shitboxes and start buying very expensive german luxury vehicles. that will surely fix all of your problems in life. many such cases

And enjoy replacing the battery much more frequently, which completely eliminates any fuel savings. ASS systems absolutely destroy batteries, even German cars’. There’s no benefit to them besides gaming the EPA’s city mileage test; the only reason for it is to get “regulatory compliance/credits”.

/r/fuckcars is pissed about a White House meme about the removal of the auto start-stop button in cars:

This is a real AI-ad from the US government about the end of the mand... [4oylie45jgjg1].mp4
Don't you just love it when they rub in your face how much they've gutted the US auto industry by showing you the most foreign-looking cars at every opportunity? That red car looked like a Mustang when she pulled up but nooooo, gotta be a knockoff Ferrari. Nothing against Ferraris but like cmon bruh.
The liberals who want start/stop buttons to save gas
Not a single person wants start/stop lol. The blue haired liberals who actually have given a single thought into how cars work besides just magic making the wheels turn are all in favor of EVs which can be honestly worse than start/stop. As long as they aren't mandated to replace gas most everyone is happy camping tho and rightfully so.
Auto stop-start is planned obsolescence bullshit to wear out the starter faster. At least there's usually a way to disable it but it's better to just officially get rid of it.
100% true and literally the only reason this exists. Most federal car mandates since the 1980s are also for planned obsolescence.

Is Fourth Place an actually good urbanist YouTuber or does Reddit portray him too positively?

Everything against Ferrari. They build shitty cars and are a shitty business to work with, when Jay Leno won't buy your cars because he finds you insufferable you know you're a fuck-up. And when 99% of your competition exists purely because your former customers were so pissed off at you they decided to just build their own cars instead you know you're a fuck-up.

Is Ferrari that shitty to the point that they make Chink crap seem like excellent cars? Or has Ferrari not stooped to those lows, yet?

When a Ferrari is running they tend to run alright. It's getting them to continue to run that's the issue, and that's assuming the company allows you to purchase the car you actually want in the first place, they have a bad habit of dictating to the customer what the customer will buy until the customer wastes enough cash on pointless options and lower level cars to be put on the preferred list for the good cars.

They seem to be gaining market share in Europe, too. Anywhere you go there's a Siemens Vectron locomotive now. It kinda makes me sad because trains used to be one way to differentiate between different countries. I remember back in the 90s, if you went to Germany there would be Volkswagens and Mercedes' and BMWs everywhere on the road, and if you went to France it would be all Peugeots and Citroens and Renaults. That's all gone now, everything is everywhere... everyone watches the same shows and buys their clothes in the same giant retail chains and eats the same fast food slop as well. Trains held out longer due to their much longer service life, but even that's going away now and only architecture remains, though new construction is also largely the same fuck ugly grey cubes everywhere.

I don't want to live in an Economic Zone indistinguishable from everywhere else. When I take a train here, I want it to be a Škoda Transportation one that the railway workers and train autists use a funny nickname for, like Tornado or Coffin or Messerschmitt or Boneshaker.
The term for this phenomenon is "Globohomo" which was short for "Global homogeneity". I say was, because most people who use that word nowadays think it means "global homosexuality", which isn't inaccurate, but I feel the original definition is more meaningful.

There's a certain je ne sais quoi of what is globohomo is and isn't.

Ferrari leans on their RACING HERITAGE very very hard, and to be fair, the driving experience of a Ferrari is usually very good whether its a mid-engine sports car, a grand tourer, a hatchback, whatever. The design (art and technical aspects both) is also usually premium. Everything else on them is not. You pay half a million dollars for a Ferrari and the door handle falls off, the vents aren't connected, the knob for the radio doesn't work, and then when you complain about it you get put on the naughty list, unlike with the other poorly-built high end carmakers.

This video is a fairly good summary of how Ferrari treats their customers, and half this channel is just these trust fund kids talking about all the various ways in which their expensive import cars that they've owned were fucked up and had shit build quality.

So it sounds like the exact same deal with Chinese cars, where they focus on the interior and exterior parts that you can see, i.e. the GIANT ASS INFOTAINMENT SCREEN RIGHT IN THE CENTER, but they cost-cut all of the internal stuff such as the body and suspension. You also get put onto a naughty list if you criticize a Chinese car, since the CCP considers that as an attack on the Party, and dealers usually tell customers to suck it if something goes wrong with a car and needs fixing.

no it's the exact opposite. Chink vehicles are cheap bugman appliances that handle like busted golf carts and Ferraris are Formula One cars with shitty creature comforts and longevity that you buy to show off your wealth

Continuing on the theme of transit planning versus as-built being a humiliation ritual for transit fhegs because the DEI folxs always end up ruling the roost:

But the US had a suspension monorail train from 1982 until 2018.

In one of the most "diverse" cities in the country, no less:

It's right next to the Bass Pro Shops Pyramid:

Transit advocates are retards who never do any research.

Ostatnio edytowane:
oh absolutely, but there's a certain switch that gets flipped in some peoples heads when I say I'm from the South or talking about the South. It's not everyone up here but I've noticed a few people through college that just have this nasty little switch that seems to flip and they assume the instant worse case scenario for shit like Alabama or Mississippi.

Iowa and the Dakotas being rural shitholes, thats normal stuff, whatever. they've never heard of Des Moines or care about it. They'll gladly talk about imposing rules and regulations on Midwestern farmers across the board for daring to drive a pickup truck all day. They'll be a little peeved or annoyed but it's the same annoyance as one would have a random fly in your room.

Mississippi or Alabama? Oh hell no, everyone gets down there on the Niggerwhipper 5000 and gladly snorts meth while flippantly fellating Trump and Hitler. There are no cities down there and if there are they're the 'only good places' in the South (tell me more about how you've never actually been to Birmingham or Jackson). It seems to devolve to them trying to contain their anger or at the least politely seething through their teeth.
It's especially funny when considering red southern states are some of the ones improving the most in public education, one of the left's darling issues - one that they love to hold over righties heads, because southern legislatures would rather focus on improving their ability to teach important skills rather than adding more white guilt studies and making sure Deshawn doesn't feel inferior to Connor or Chen. Mind you, these places are dealing with much larger populations percentages of Blacks and Hispanics than the Midwest or New England, yet they still manage these massive leaps over more affluent, whiter states.
school.png

I know it's grok but I've read this elsewhere

Of course, if you showed this to a redditor, they'd smugly reply that reading ability doesn't matter when southern schools teach kids that the earth is 6000 years old and the Confederacy fought for state's rights, rather than engaging in good faith. "State's right to do what?" They will chortle as the grease dribbles down from underneath their man tits into the fungus-filled crevices of their molding feet.

Another point, you never hear about these people mention most Americans first experiences with public transport: The school bus. Just as a career in criminal law in any urban center should turn any reasonable liberal into an out-and-out racist, any long term usage of the school bus during childhood should turn any reasonable person into a car-loving, NAP-worshipping, civil rights-hating gigachuds. The lack of seat belts, heating or decent suspension; the circuitous routes turning a 5 minute journey into almost hour long slog, the potentially pedophilic bus drivers - not to mention the racial detritus that occupy the seats if you go to a school anywhere less than 30 miles out from a major population center who are always itching to start something. It's a little microcosm of what's to come when you're forced to engage with the lowest common denominator on their level, as redditors so desperately want.

Real niggas would have their mommy or daddy to drive them, and the REALEST niggas would get occasional happy meals on Fridays if they got a 100 on their spelling test.

I wonder how the Pro-Trains crowd is taking the news about China's High Speed Rail that they revere being mostly empty, because the CCP is scalping train tickets TicketMaster-style to try to suck out more money from the people, so they all crowd to the slower trains instead?

PreserveTube

Is scalping and marking up HSR tickets actually more profitable than pricing HSR tickets at the correct or lower cost to ensure that they're used to full or almost-full capacity?
