We know something of the thoughts of Dr. Joe, since he has a Xitter account. It's almost entirely a stream of generic liberal/anti-Trump politics:
I tend to think his stories will get more exaggerated and outlandish and he'd hyper fixate on his parents even more. He essentially has nothing right now other than screaming into the void about his evil parents (think trump).
I get the sense they are more frustrated/exhausted by him than anything. We have the court transcripts, Dave's secret recordings at home and the video of him confronting his mother in the car park, and in all of them his parents come across as just wanting him to either calm down or leave them alone. Dave is always the one to instigate and escalate, just like a narcissist ironically enough.
They'd also invalidate their life insurance so there'd be less money to go around - typical narcissistic behavior, narcing from behind the grave, will he be never be free, they did it just to deprive Dave of what is rightfully his etc. I'd agree that he is in their will, but they're too nice to leave him what he deserves which is $1.
The best case scenario for Dave is that they just view him as mentally ill rather than actively malicious and they'll still leave him something in their will because of it. But being highly educated upper middle class probably also means they're going to at least be smart enough not to let him go wild with whatever they leave and have it in some sort of trust.
Based on the court transcripts and the fact they didn't pursue charges for the country club $10k, I think if Dave went to them and genuinely apologised they'd be willing to reconcile; maybe even let him move back into the basement. Dave will never do that because he's a narc of course, but I think his parents would forgive him his trespasses.
I kinda wonder if the good Doctors will outlive Dave and make the whole thing immaterial.
Judging by all the open sores on Dave's face, this is a very real possibility. A parent should never have to bury their child but in this case it may come as a relief not having to worry when he's next going to appear on your street telling everyone you're a pedophile.
