I really doubt it, considering Americans are already specifically excluded from the commonwealth visa programs that permit anybody with a Bonglish accent to seek employment while temporarily visiting. That’s how half the expats I knew got hired at my former company. Pretty sure Adam is American, so his options are to visit Japan as a tourist or as a foreign expert with a (presumably full-time) job lined up for him. If he tried to get a job of any kind while there on a tourist visa, they could very well deport him.
He is American, and his only formal qualification I'm aware of is from Full Sail University for systems design in relation to video games, which he has done absolutely nothing with. It was also years ago so is presumably outdated by now.
