I thought the problem was that creating them requires an entire supply chain that's gone extinct, which is why they've been so hard to resurrect. As in, you need to bring back 5 or 6 different industries before you can bring back floppies, same issue as bringing back Cathode Ray Tubes.

I think Americans like the idea of a Civil War 2.0 more than they actually want to do anything that will increase it likelihood. A lot of comie speeds thought the Luigi's assassination of that CEO would start it and the right though the Charlie Kirk assassination would start it. Yet nothing has happened. In fact things have not happened soo much that a sped threw his life away to try and free Luigi instead of shooting an ebil CEO.

There is no scenario where the right would win a civil war. If one were to start now it would 100% end in a communist regime lasting at least the next few millennia.
They don’t need anything organized. They just need individuals to start hunting dem politicians and pundits like animals in response to the liberals already starting to do that to conservatives. There are a thousand times more conservatives with the needed experience and capability. The response is taking all the guns away and a further insurgency will develop under that condition.
Floppy disks are technologically similar to audio cassettes, both boiling down to magnetic particulate bonded to a thin plastic substrate all housed in a protective shell for handling. The old supply lines specifically for floppy disks are dead, but all the underlying disciplines are still used elsewhere in industry and the materials to resurrect them are still produced, there just hasn't been enough of a motive yet.
The two things that keep a Civil War from happening is that 1. People are still comfortable enough materially and food wise that they will not want to blow everything up with a Civil War and 2. People who know Civil War will blow society up and don't want to deal with the hell that brings.
