Disaster Active shooter alert issued for areas in and around Tumbler Ridge, B.C. - Residents asked to shelter in place; suspect described as "woman" in a dress with brown hair

An active shooter alert has been issued for a large area in and around Tumbler Ridge in B.C.'s northeast.

The alert was issued Tuesday at 2:15 p.m. PT by RCMP, and it covers Tumbler Ridge, Chetwynd, Dawson Creek and areas surrounding them.

Police say those in the Tumbler Ridge area should stay indoors and shelter in place, and not leave their homes.

The suspect in the case has been described as a woman in a dress with brown hair.

Anyone who sees the suspect has been asked not to approach them and to call 911.

It appears Jennifer’s maiden name is Jacobs, she and Justin Van Rootselaar, Jesse’s father had at least two children together but never married, and Jennifer than married a man named Strang as the murdered stepbrother was Emmett Strang. It’s unknown if Mr. Strang, Jennifer’s husband and Jesse’s stepfather, was in their lives at the time of the murders. I think someone found a screencap of Jesse complaining about the stepdad.

Oh..my heart. I worked for a few years up in British Columbia and had clients I cared for in Tumbler Ridge. When I was told it was a woman in a dress I knew immediately it was a MtF troon despite people thinking I was bigot for jumping to conclusions.
