Disaster Active shooter alert issued for areas in and around Tumbler Ridge, B.C. - Residents asked to shelter in place; suspect described as "woman" in a dress with brown hair

An active shooter alert has been issued for a large area in and around Tumbler Ridge in B.C.'s northeast.

The alert was issued Tuesday at 2:15 p.m. PT by RCMP, and it covers Tumbler Ridge, Chetwynd, Dawson Creek and areas surrounding them.

Police say those in the Tumbler Ridge area should stay indoors and shelter in place, and not leave their homes.

The suspect in the case has been described as a woman in a dress with brown hair.

Anyone who sees the suspect has been asked not to approach them and to call 911.

When you're describing a shooter, the point is to give information that can be used by you to identify someone who intends to kill you from a distance.
Hopefully, "in a dress" in the frozen over hell that is northern BC was enough to tip off the locals that something was wrong, because the description in the alert isn't even close to what the shooter looks like.

With how tight-lipped the RCMP are being with the firearms used they aren't the ones that they wanted to be used - i.e. SKS or whatever the hell Provost is calling an "assault-style" gun these days. Running rumour I've seen in a few spots is a 12ga pump with birdshot, which would align with the large wounded number and (based on some recent testimony) how quickly the actual shooting transpired. That or the tranny used an automatic prohibited piece which given the purported gun cabinet shots posted in this thread is entirely possible.

If the Libs are going to ban guns harder it will be floated by MPs and higher ranking advisors before the week is through because the focus will remain on the shooter's identity without concerted effort at narrative control - and given neither the RCMP nor the government/media want to reveal it's a tranny they will either pivot to firearms immediately or let this die through silence.
