Disaster Active shooter alert issued for areas in and around Tumbler Ridge, B.C. - Residents asked to shelter in place; suspect described as "woman" in a dress with brown hair

An active shooter alert has been issued for a large area in and around Tumbler Ridge in B.C.'s northeast.

The alert was issued Tuesday at 2:15 p.m. PT by RCMP, and it covers Tumbler Ridge, Chetwynd, Dawson Creek and areas surrounding them.

Police say those in the Tumbler Ridge area should stay indoors and shelter in place, and not leave their homes.

The suspect in the case has been described as a woman in a dress with brown hair.

Anyone who sees the suspect has been asked not to approach them and to call 911.

We need to take the lead as a nation and start prosecuting parents whose sons troon out, full stop. Why wait until they kill people or molest kids?

That's more personal responsibility at that point, keep your gun in a cabinet locked up or locker, play ammunition away from the gun so it's at least two steps from use or lock the trigger mechanism/receiver etc
