Disaster Active shooter alert issued for areas in and around Tumbler Ridge, B.C. - Residents asked to shelter in place; suspect described as "woman" in a dress with brown hair

An active shooter alert has been issued for a large area in and around Tumbler Ridge in B.C.'s northeast.

The alert was issued Tuesday at 2:15 p.m. PT by RCMP, and it covers Tumbler Ridge, Chetwynd, Dawson Creek and areas surrounding them.

Police say those in the Tumbler Ridge area should stay indoors and shelter in place, and not leave their homes.

The suspect in the case has been described as a woman in a dress with brown hair.

Anyone who sees the suspect has been asked not to approach them and to call 911.

sadly you're right as the feds have been pushing for gun confiscation. most of the provinces are telling the federal government to fuck off on it. my guess on what they may do is probably expand the banned list again, moves some guns from unrestricted to restricted(which means they will need an RPAL to posess it instead of a PAL), and toy with the idea of bringing back the long gun registry either federally or David Eby might do it provincially. i remember when the harper government scrapped the federal one, Quebec moved for their own provincial one and there was a bitchslapfest over the federal data.

Depending on the weapons used it'll definitely be at attempt at expanding the ban list. There's almost next to nothing available in the restricted category any more (most became prohibited as part of the OICs) so the easy options are all gone. I hope this tranny didn't use an SKS because that will be enough to force a ban through given the current government.
