He was set to be outprocessed but wrote his senator. His senator paid for him to see a civilian doctor so he could appeal and wrote some official letter that the DoD had to permit him to continue and finish initial training while his case was reviewed by a full medical board. He carried a copy of letter with him at all times as instructed by I believe the company commander for reasons I cannot remember, the original being in his personnel file.
