It's pretty funny going through my own realization today of just how shit Phil really is at SF6. Not saying I'm anything more than an average player, I barely hit Masters for the first time last phase with Mai and Ryu (so the most broken characters) and I have a few others in Diamond including Sagat. I decided to switch back to him after seeing piggy finish at Diamond 1 since mine is at the same level and it's funny trying to do his combos in training mode and how they are not even that good. He constantly bitches about dropping inputs because he does the most complicated strings that don't even do the most damage into lvl3. I've managed to already hit D2, halfway to 3(edit: Diamond3 now about an hour after posting), without any win streaks just doing basic shit, simple combos that hit over 3k, and spamming fireballs. As much as they suck they're still fast as shit and catches most people if you throw enough of them. I guess the point I'm trying to make besides humble bragging is Phil really is terrible and if he actually spent some meaningful time in training mode instead of just looking up Sir Wong's tutorials and trying to do all the fancy twitter combos he might actually improve a little like myself and others who just got into fighting games with this one.

Dragon Quest 7 is 75-100 hours long. It makes no sense to me that he's even trying to start a playthrough of it. Within like 5 streams, it'll definitely be down to 150 viewers, if he's lucky, and if he tried to actually play through it, he could very well be under 100 viewers before he's halfway through.

The only way this makes sense is if he has an arrangement like he had with Baldur's Gate 3, when One Minute Man funded the entire playthrough despite the viewership tanking. I guess we'll see if that's the case, but it's not looking that way as of now.

I don't play them but I'm trying to learn the basics because I want to understand the depth to his retardation. He gets away with some of it because he can just say shit and if you don't know any better you kinda just have to take his word for it. I think it was Revant Tillywink who said he could get another 700hp of damage out of his jab knee combo if he optimized it a little better. I love learning about fighting games because the more I learn the more I understand how bad Phil is. I've really enjoyed SagAH because it makes it really obvious to everyone what kind of player he is. The other ones he knows a little better so he can kind of mixup his pattern play but Sagat he only knows that one combo and he does it over and over and over and when he can't do it he loses.

If he really thought he was good he'd play with hand cam, or at least with inputs on. He won't though, because he sucks and he knows it.

I am half listening to Tevin's restream of this right now. Think it's the first time I've ever watched even a tiny bit of him playing a JRPG and he has nothing to say. Just begging to keep the game in rotation and clown mode while going "la la la". Wow it's no wonder he is so sussessful this is really entertaining stuff.
