He is correct on what he says about solar panels, but ignores the fact that it's fucking impossible to just replace a lot of infrastructure just like that. He ignores the fact that gas is easier to transport, refueling is much faster. Oil also as industry is massive for blue collar workers, so going solar would mean those people would need to look for different jobs. US is also is on the top of oil extraction, keeping prices low.
Infrastructure does last, but also takes time to develop. Look how Europe thought they can just move to solar and turbines, and Germany had to start panic mining coal, meanwhile Poland runs on coal while slowly building out the renewable sources, primarily for independence. They were talking about oil getting more expensive due to rarity, and to this day things are competitive. The technology he is so confident about being ready to use, is still being developed and experimented with, so governments will be a lot more careful with investing in it. Otherwise, you will get another Ivanpah, which got outcompeted by the same branch of technology. Same with electric cars, Lithium has problem with cold weathers and possible situations where EV infrastructure is not built out, so they do choose hybrid cars, and possibly in the future, dual battery ones that use weather resistant sodium batteries. Sodium batteries themselves are in a bit of a chaotic moment as a lot of companies stopped researching them due to lithium price crash.
TLDR; there is a lot more to this.
