It's ridiculous how you amerimutts not only don't have voter ID, but the party obsessed with Europe actively opposes it. Back here in Italy we have to bring our ID card and an electoral card certifying every referendum or election we voted in.

After civil war there was the reconstruction period. It didnt really go well.
The 1876 election was stolen. A compromise was reached where the election would stay stolen but reconstruction would end.

my grandmother was born in 1930 she was the youngest of 6 kids born on a farm at home. She mentioned the local county doctor had to fudge some papers work to get her a birth certificate, and Social security card.
The population of america prewar was rural, people were born at home. That changed in the 1950s.

To sum up your question for 60 years its been a mantra that voter ID is a toll of white to surpress black voters.
This mantra was created at time when we didnt have mass migration to the states.

I can by pass the liberal programing with people by framing voter ID as not showing an ID to go to the polls but as a simple system of saying you check a persons eligibility to vote not on election day but when they are added to the voter rolls and realistically you only need to check it once.
