Interesting to know. I mean I suppose that makes it a little less sympathetic to me than if the gun went off and he panicked. I'm not gonna act like it's not a fumble and that it doesn't look bad for them, but like you said it all happened so fast and all the noise and confusion makes it easy for someone to fuck up. That tweet I posted comparing it to fucking with OR surgeons and recording their every move is spot on. Sooner or later this shit is bound to happen, and Walz has chosen to make it worse by refusing to co-operate.
The thing for me is that it's basically a rehash of police brutality incidents that have occured over the last 10 years. Are a lot of cops/LEOs braindead pigs? Yeah probably. Are they too trigger happy and willing to ignore optics in lieu of beat down people who piss them off? Yes. But it's also a more nuanced situation and mainstream media will only portray it in a way that is obvious not impartial. Obviously I see the other side of the political aisle also not being impartial, prone to sensational language and spreading misinformation, but the truth exists between there and what every major publication will claim, which is also unreliable. What's frustrating is that regardless of context, the headline was already written before any corroborating details came out. It's that I.C.E. are evil, that they kill people protesting them execution style, and they need to be abolished. And it works on a large number of people. The fact that there are hundreds of thousands of people protesting this shit is proof at how many people lake the capacity for believing in any sort of nuance and just immediately think "this is genocide by a Gestapo force."
