While I don't doubt Rekieta would be a careless dickhead and leave rat poison lying around, it does not sound realistic for a home with pets. Poison companies add things like milk proteins to their products to entice rodents, and they are usually compressed pellets which take a long time to biodegrade. So cats and dogs would eventually find some and taste it, there is no metered dose for faunacides, they will massively overdose the product (as much as they can) to quickly kill the animal for humane and hygienic reasons.

It's just not tenable as a claim, and it is beginning to sound like one of Nicks desperate, feverish lies from 2024. About being monogamous, having a spotless home, Going to Jamaica for the architecture etc.

I think the prediction I made last month is closer to the truth: He met some disgusting sex people online (because he has no friends and his family loath the Rekietas), the disgusting sex people were too busy doing drugs and forgot to let poor "Sunni" (god I hate Kayla) back inside, out of the Minnesotan cold. The poor unfortunate dog died of hypothermia. They told Rekieta the next morning, Rekieta said "meh?" and continued with his vacation (not before traumatising his children with the bad news).

Rekieta claims he brought the dog's body to the vet, returned home with the remains, then visited the vet again to have the remains cremated. This is very odd, as the dog's remains would either be in a state of decomposition or be frozen solid after being stuffed into a freezer. Either case is not what you or your family would want to see, even after 3 days a body will begin to smell strongly.
It sounds more like the dog was frozen after it died from exposure, and Rekieta had to invent a line of lies to mollify his family, perhaps letting it defrost enough for his wife to see the animal was somewhat cared for by his chosen wards. Then quickly cremated to cement his chosen lies.

Rekieta's emphatic use of "family" being the carers for Sunni may be another Rekieta fib, "they were my friends. . .I've known them for years (that is also a lie) . . . .they are like family to me".

Then there is the bizarre decision to adopt a replacement pug when the ashes of the last aren't even cold, a breed which clearly didn't do well in the Rekieta household, they are sensitive, intelligent and highly social dogs, they do best with highly affectionate owners who want to pamper something. They need frequent trips outside to poop and pee. A more common dog would play with the kids and spend most of it's time sleeping and enjoying the passive companionship of a noisy family home.
To me this stinks of a "I' did nothing wrong but stop being angry" gift. A predisposition of guilt towards Kayla and the family. The kind of immature, socially stunted thing, I haven't witnessed since I was 17 and dating for the first time. . .and the exact kind of slug-like behaviour Rekieta is known for.

You're right, it isn't realistic for a home with pets assuming you ever take the pet outside. However, all evidence of their living situation tells me this dog didn't even have access to most of the house, let alone ever going outside. She was locked in a bathroom or retained behind a baby gate in the kitchen during any hour Kayla and the kids weren't interacting with her. My guess as to why is probably because if she shat, pissed, or vomited they wouldn't be able to find it in all the refuse and clutter inside the house.

I think it's just as likely that this happened on his property and he lied about it so the farms couldn't come down on him without stretching the limits of believability (he poisoned the dog with enough wayfarin to act as a time bomb so his in-laws could be blamed and their influence on Kayla mitigated due to the betrayal.) The problem with believing that the dog accidentally got into rat poison at the Rekieta estate is that there's no way Nick or Kayla have had the initiative to put out rat poison for at least 3 years. There simply would not be any rat poison in the yard, it would have been consumed by rats long ago. And they've been dirt poor for the last 2 years so it wouldn't have been from a pest control service because they definitely have not been paying one.

Don't forget he blames his arrest on his sister-in-law. It's not a stretch at all that he'd ask ChatGPT how to poison his dawg to die in X days and do that before dropping the dog off at Kayla's sister's house. I can't imagine there being a part of the home, the dog can access the cats cannot though. Rat Poison is usually placed in crates like this, intentionally designed to inaccessible for any animal other than a rodent, even making the baited food too hard to break off, so the rat can't carry lumps of it outside, die and possibly poison other animals.
