Honestly, my view on Ang's sanity is this:
She is both exaggerating and lying about stuff and doing a LARP with her characters, but also she really does believe certain things. As someone in the thread once put it: Her doing these things is a sign of mental illness in and of itself, so she's still a fucking lunatic regardless.

At this point, I'm just waiting to see what she does next. She's been oddly silent, and my own theory is she's getting ready to DFE/fake another death, because like... Her entire modus operandi got exposed for all to see when I dropped the substar post. Where the fuck does she go from here? Her latest gofundme grift has only gotten like 200 something dollars out of the 44k goal. Normally, she would have gotten thousands of dollars by now, but she hasn't. Her audience is starting to sense that she's not worth it from the angry asks and comments she's gotten, and is leaving her in the dust.

Either she's gonna go out with a bang and then come back a year or so later, or she's just gonna stop posting altogether.

Hmmm, fair. Going by her "I'm doing to die" thing back in September of 2023, it took her about 5 months to come back from that with a brand new story about how she saw "the truth" or whatever. So retract "a year" and change it to 4 or 5 months lmao.

Her last big manic episode was probably her initial bought of alien schizoposting in 2024. That came after a 3-4 month hiatus where everybody thought she'd died. After the alien stuff calmed down she didn't really go dormant, she just awkwardly wrote it off as "worldbuilding" and went back to posting art on Baraag.

Normally, she would have gotten thousands of dollars by now, but she hasn't. Her audience is starting to sense that she's not worth it from the angry asks and comments she's gotten, and is leaving her in the dust.

I wouldn't necessarily count on it. At least a portion of her audience is making excuses for her acting psychotic and begging others behind the scenes to stop interacting with her so as not to make her delusions worse. I expect that if Ang re-emerges and begins posting art again, people will forget this ever happened and go back to supporting her.



But when she does come back (and she will come back, she always does), I don't think it will be as an artist. I think she's going to fully commit to the supplement bit, and try to find a completely new audience in the health woo community.

I was going through the SubscribeStar dump and I have to say, the Road Bump comic was a bit unnerving. The general premise of a free spirit trying to help a lost soul could be a good basis for a story, but it takes a way darker character when the free spirit is a paranoid transient avoiding law enforcement and the lost soul is a physically abused child. A particularly creepy recurring detail is Kate making sure Birdy isn't recognized in public or being looked for as they cross state lines in her rape van. It's stuff like this that starts crossing over into "actually thought about it" territory for me, since this is legitimately how a child abduction goes down, including the savior-like mindset of the adult carrying it out.
