i learned hooked on phonics when i was a kid. phonics learning propelled me ahead of every classmate for several grades because i had those mail-order tapes. my grandparents were huge into home education to ensure i learned the important stuff. they were old enough that neither of them had ever even gone to public school, they had been kids that long ago. i miss 'em a lot, and i'm very grateful. hopefully parents learn that they're not teaching phonics anymore and start doing so themselves, if they don't have the idea of just pulling their kid out of the nigger education system outright.
