It baffles me how the left is still stuck with the "identity politics" stigma meanwhile the right wing has been emphasizing people's race, religion, sexuality, etc since 2015. They can't slander this woman as a bloodthirsty criminal like they did to justify George Floyd's murder, so they're going "she's gay so she deserved it!!"

George Floyd was an easy target since he had a criminal past. But all the other black people extrajudicially murdered by law enforcement or white nationalists (in the case of Ahmaud Arbery) weren't criminals, so all they could do is figure out creative ways to go "they deserved it because they're black" without outright saying it.

This is woman is unique in that she's a woman is white, christian, and a mother of three, after hours of the right wing asserting that she must be a Somali muslim anti-ICE terrorist. Normally this would force the right wing to try and ignore the story as hard as possible given that she basically invalidates a ton of their racist dogma, but luckily for them, she's bisexual (which means she's a 100% lesbian despite having three kids born to her ex-husband and her deceased husband).

At the end of the day, all it boils down to is trying to figure out a way to "other" someone who might make the administration look bad. That's why every shooting since Trump's second inauguration has had dishonest grifters (from right wing forumites to Twitter users to the President himself) shamlessly rush to throw blame on the left and any nearby political enemy they can find.

This woman wasn't even a protestor. She was a bystander trying to merge into traffic. But Trump, Vance and every other member of his administration have figured out that the Goebbels tactic of simply just repeating a lie over and over is enough to make sure the truth never surfaces. One of the best examples of this was last year's government shutdown where they kept repeating the lie that the shutdown occurred because Democrats wanted to "give illegals free healthcare" vs the reality that Dems just wanted to extend Obamacare subsidies for another year. Even when the shutdown persisted and people stopped believing the lie, they kept repeating it, and diehard MAGA fans kept believing it.

So as long as Trump and his admin keep calling this woman a "deranged leftist", "a protestor trying to obstruct ICE", "an activist trying to ram her car into ICE", etc, then that's the truth for MAGAfags. We can only hope they get a strong dose of reality about her and about her murder if/when this case goes to trial (assuming Kash doesn't fuck with the investigation too much).

At this point I hope they plaster this photo everywhere. This is a major fuckup and as soon as I saw the earlier outrage I knew it didn't seem right. It was way too fast and barely anyone knew who this woman was and immediately they just went on rumors and misinformation, instead of sitting and waiting to see what else would come out of this.
