I know what you mean though, back to your earlier point. A country with an even more raped right-wing is Mexico, where some of my family came from. The most 'right wing' candidate in recent history was Vicente Fox, who was center-right at best, ever since the fall of Diaz over 100 years ago (my family left when he fell), then from the PRI state it was just a long line of statist leftist presidents that continues to this day.
The Venezuelan right isn't as bad off (unorganized as they were), but it's going to take probably 10-15 years of rebuilding. I think after Chavez/Maduro there will be more appetite for it.
