Without breaching the email privacy blah blah based on the questions I and at least one other person got back from Family Services it seems like Rekieta goes or went hands on with his children, pushing them through doors or pushing them out of his way, yelling at them in public and glaring at them. The chokeslam thing seem to have been putting his hands on a child's shoulders then closing his hands on their neck and beginning to shake them which morphed into pushing them into a chair. For the crime of blocking his way to a counter or a magazine the witness couldn't tell which.
One thing though is Rekieta has zero poker face so he shows up places looking absolutely pissy and angry and acting like a smartass faggot or rude fuckhead to random people serving him. Mister Charm he is not. This is part of the reason when Family Services asked stuff from different folks quite a few have said something like that 'oh yeah THAT asshole" and so on.
It's also why the Rekietas have no friends or acquaintances. They are both creepy and unpleasant.
No shit, huh? Shocker I know.

It is very specific but I read that as him providing context for how he was 'sorry but not sorry'. I agree there has to be some motivation, however I side with him wanting something from Keanu as opposed to some third party suggesting he apologise. As a mea culpa it was pathetic, but as a rapprochement for a specific purpose it has enough ego protection and white knighting to be consistent with how he operates.

This makes me so much madder in context. In other words, the specific chokeslam incident is almost beside the point, and he's constantly manhandling his children like that over petty bullshit. How are they supposed to recover from living with this psycho?

At least it isn't very violent I guess. Although hitting a small child over the head with a keyboard and kicking another one in the ass for example is still violent to me. It isn't smacking an ass it's worse than that. But it isn't wrestling moves and karate chops or whatever.

ETA
one question was "Are you aware of any local family who feel that it would be unsafe to leave their children with the Rekietas?" and that fed back into something he is convinced the nanny told authorities. And joke's on him it was relatives who informed the authorities not the nanny.
