How is that avoided now? They took Maduro but left the rest of his regime.
Well it's no longer US lives at risk. What I believe will happen is the military leadership will take over for a temporary period in cooperation with US officials, oil companies will come in and improve the existing oil fields, and the US will start paying the government directly for every barrel of oil.

Any intervention in this system will probably be turned into an example. Maduro was the first. An optimistic approach is that the new money being pumped into Venezuela (which will be a lot) will improve infrastructure, provide jobs, etc. Government corruption will still very much exist but less cartel and drug smuggling and more financial fraud.

Remember when we violated international law when we invaded Pakistan to kill Osama? But since King Nigger was in charge it was actually a good thing.
The news media kissed Obama’s butt so much when that happened. Honestly, it was a W for him. It’s just funny how the same media suddenly cares about international law when it comes to dictators

A van surrounded by a vast and heavy escort is believed to contain President Maduro, is currently making its way through Manhattan.
It is suspected that the convoy is going to Drug Enforcement Agency's New York division at 99 Building on 10th Avenue for booking. From there, he will be taken to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn for detention.

The funny thing is if he plays his cards right and flips on everyone under him, completely and eagerly grabs ankle for Uncle Sam, he might actually see the light of day in a couple decades. Who would have thunk Carlos Lehder would be doing the youtube circuit over the past year? But he doesn't have Lehders German genes so he's probably just a typical sub IQ brownoid and will machismo himself into the rest of his life in ADX Florence.

I'll change my tune if this does somehow turn into Latam Vietnam but this 'American Century of Humiliation' only seems to be humiliating all of BRICS instead.
Don't worry, tomorrow China will pay a Tiktok influencer to show off self-driving cars and tons of other cool shit you won't see out of the chink app's reels even if you go to China. But it doesn't matter because the next day, someone with a high-karma private account will repost it to r/futurology on reddit (40% owned by Tencent) where it will immediately make the front page and have top comments made by true americans (with private 3 day old accounts) decrying how horrible their country is, how it will undoubtedly get invaded and destroyed by chinese Terminators and how this is a good thing and deserved because Orange Man bad.

That would convince any logical person about America's complete obliteration as a world power. Soon we will live in a more just and equal multipolar world, ruled by far eastern jews and brownoids whose money is worth less than the paper it's printed on.

it seems americans, both the left and right, have been under such incompetent executive authority and handling of conflicts for so long
that when a military op is quick, bloodless, and effective it breaks our brains because we have been conditioned (or traumatized) by 40 years
of retard-led military adventurism to expect pointless, drawn out, and dumb conflicts.
This is the most exciting thing to me. Discourse seems to be so poisoned by drawn out conflicts that people default to the assumptions surrounding them, but this really is the most humane way to resolve something like this. Basically nobody dies or suffers, but meaningful change is immediately made. I haven't seen an operation this immaculately precise since fucking Desert Storm.

If war must be made, this is the ideal way to do it. You hew off the snake's head with a silent swipe of the scalpel, and that's all there is to it.

Anyone who compares this to the typical costs of war is self-reporting about the fact that they don't actually meaningfully consider the circumstances of anything they think about, beyond "war = bad". On the upswing, maybe this precedent can start to heal that perception.

Flip against who? We need the military leadership to maintain order there for our interests. The only people he can give are politicians or the names of known cartel leaders, which the former the US doesn't care about and the latter have a standing shoot-on-sight thanks to the terrorist designation.

They got rid of literally everyone (100k politicians, army officers, police, office workers, DMV clerks litterally everyone) after invading Saddam's Iraq and how well did that turn out?

You can't just take a sledge hammer to the house of cards.
