There is precedent for this. The entire American Southwest was once part of Mexico. Annexation was inarguably the best thing for the region. Now, its one of the nicest places to live in NA.

Now, imagine a resource-rich territory like VZ. The people of VZ would benefit greatly from the stability of being a part of the US, and it would play into our interests greatly.

I don't think the comparison is that easy to make. The former territories of Mexico that were incorporated into the United States were sparsely populated prior to the arrival of certain settlers. The cultures of the people who made the American Southwest into what it is are worlds apart from the ones in South America.

I was very opposed to war with Venezuela, but I am very impressed with how the operation was handled. No American casualties, and minimal casualites on the Venezuelan side. Venezuelans seems to be reacting well to the news that Maduro is out.

I'll call Trump out when he's retarded, but this was one of the cleanest Military operations in recent American history.

You're forgetting the part where pretty much the entirety of the southwest was empty other than Indians and that Spain allowed settlers from the colonies to come and help them because they had so few people. It's a very different situation. At a time where people are saying "fuck off we're full", adding more states isn't what anyone really wants.
