TLDR: It just seems antithetical to being America first.

There's only so much you can do to fix your own house while people are standing on the sidewalk throwing rocks and shit at your windows, poisoning your dog's food bowl, and lobbing molotov cocktails at your geraniums. Not to mention "third parties" that are not doing anything illegal per se, but still shelter and provide legal aid to the ones that do act against you. The burgers spent decades, and untold billions of dollars, trying to be nice and pay people to act like human beings instead of rabid chimpanzees; that didn't work. Everyone, allies and enemies, just sucked you off dry while complaining and acting like condescending pricks, and expecting to be thanked for it. When the spigot was turned off this last year, the whole world chimped out at having to deal with their own problems instead of throwing other people's money at it.

Some time, you'll have to either give up, or deal with the external problems. Dealing with it with a soft voice didn't work, and giving up isn't an option to anyone outside of reddit and extreme left echo chambers. It's stick time!

As impressive as this was, what exactly does this get us?
A foreign policy W.

After the humiliating end to GWOT, it will restore confidence in and morale among the military.

It sends a message to Lula, Sheinbaum, the cartels, et al that they are not untouchable, and that America is done being the world's communal fleshlight. Play ball, or we will fuck you up.

Maduro: Shows videos giving AK's to random women to be cannon fodder against an invasion.

US: *yoink*

The reason I think this is that this sets the precedent again that the US is the world police. I know many people here forget, but a big part of the original MAGA campaign was that we would be America first and let other countries nominally handle themselves unless they were directly harming Americans. Does anyone logically think this move will do anything to stop the influx of drugs into this country? The problem is not that people make drugs, its that people want to consume them. They will just come from another country.

This sets the precedent imo that the US will be involved in policing other countries and enacting regime change if we deem fit. Trump stated the US will run Venezuela "until a just transition" takes place. Are we really okay being bogged down running countries around the world?

TLDR: It just seems antithetical to being America first. We have so many fucking problems here at home, why would we do regime change and get bogged down in endless foreign wars? I dont want my tax dollars going to fixing and running Venezuela.
I do understand your fears especially considering Trump's campaign promises. But a few points:

A: America is the world police whether we like it or not and make no mistake the world wants it that way. As long as we have a single military base overseas, or one industry that depends on shipping lanes, we are going to have a vested interest in keeping some kind of global stability, and that means occasionally breaking some buck who tries to undermine said stability. We can either go full 100% isolationist (which will take 10 years minimum) or occasionally get involved in shit.

B: This is much more in America's direct interest than Iraq or Afghanistan or arguably even Vietnam.

C: The drug narrative is compilcated and speaking as somebody who used to vigorously push this, the "people will just do the drugs anyway" narrative is defeatist and pathetic. "People will just rape anyways, they will just kidnap kids anyways, they will rob banks anyways, if we close the border immigrants will just come anyways" Even consumption alone: "If we take garbage out of our food people will just eat garbage anyways, if we take wokeshit out of TV shows people will just become woke anyways"

Really ask yourself who stands to benefit from you thinking that you can't do anything about anything ever. That's not to say i think we're ever going to rid the entire world of this crap ever but you can make a difference by cutting off the biggest pipeline.

If you can never do anything about anything why do our enemies do so many things?

They were directly harming the United States though? Did you forget all their gangs running drugs here and taking over entire apartment blocks in places like Colorado? Literal foreign invasion.
The thing is it’s objectively true that outing the Venezuelan regime serve in the interests of the American people, but the problem is a lot of other things can be justified with that excuse. I don’t care about Maduro as much as the prospect that Americans are going to “run” another country for the time being.

First question, how the hell did they successfully smash and grab a dictator, bin laden was in a regular house with a handful of bodyguards and they couldn't take him alive. This is a head of state and they managed to take him with zero American causalities. Regardless of anything this operation is a God damn achievement.

Now the second question, is Venezuela just going to devolve into an unstable nightmare, I don't see the rest of their government folding with just this, not to mention the cartels. In Mexico whenever the head of a cartel gets whacked (by other sicarios or by the Mexican government) it always results in the lower echelons fighting to get to the top. Maduro was the Lord of the game and I can see the cartels in Venezuela going absolutely nuts after this due to the instability this is going to inevitably bring.

Is trump going to occupy the country in an attempt to bring order (starting a jungle quagmire) or will it be a hope that it will be sunshine and daisys as the country stabilizes itself (it won't).

I wonder what the death squads are going to be called this time.

So for reasons I had this already open, I hope they're forcing Maduro to listen to it. For those who don't know, Steely Dan heard Imagine and cranked this banger out.

YouTube's algo thought I wanted this one too, which is fair. We just reminded the world that the US owns the night.

Since you don't know the difference between the National Guard and the regular Army, I can only assume you're not American.
Not too put too much of a point on it, but the unit holding those students at bayonet point in the famous pictures is the 101st Airborne, which is not an NG unit.

The United States as of this time needs to stay involved with the country in order to not make sure the political situation does not devolve into something worse then Maduro's governance. This has the potential to backfire but doing nothing after removing him leaves even more things up to chance. There is also oil infrastructure that needs to be rebuilt or repaired if the average American is to see much if any benefit out of it.

I honestly hope people come to the realization that evil is a thing you constantly have to keep down. I too also think that it's not going to be pretty but if the alternative is more of the same, then what do you have to lose exactly?

Israel does it all the time. They kill whatever Iranian crowns himself the new king of terrorism because if they don't, they'll eventually get fucked.

Shitholes like Iran, Mexico or Venezuela only understand force.

Man I got shit to do but of i go do it i'll be another 100 page behind again. Shit fucking sucks.

Also, a big thank you for Fatpacks going absolutely apeshit on the dooming and bringing about this golden win.

In regards to the US leading Venezuela, get ready for another money pit, and possibly another forever war. The military's captured Maduro and blown some shit up to do so but doesn't have any sort of control over Venezuela on the ground yet, and trying to gain that control could get far bloodier than the smash and grab that just happened. This operation isn't anywhere near over yet. It might not be as bad as Iraq or Afghanistan but keep in mind with Venezuela being closer to the US spawning a long war there and letting the homicidal drug addled special forces loose on the civilian population is not gonna inspire stability. Remember that Latin America has had a long history of guerilla warfare, do you really think that won't resurge? Do you really think the Venezuelans are gonna accept a FEMALE president? Even Trump himself admitted that they won't.

In regards to Maduro getting kicked the fuck out I doubt it's because of drugs and I doubt it's because of how badly he's been treating the population. He pissed off ((((someone)))) else.

My hope for the future of Venezuela is that as far as America is concerned it does not need to build a nation there, it simply needs to build a cooperative stable ally in the region.

I honestly hope people come to the realization that evil is a thing you constantly have to keep down.

How the fuck do you think Israel does it?
Yeah I get that but what I'm asking is will this work, fatty has been in power for a long time in Venezuela and has absolutely stuffed his government with either loyalists are people just as vile as him who likely won't give up on power, if American troops need to occupy it I guarantee you it will be a quagmire. The question I have is what happens next.
