"Nah dood both sides are basically the same"
Yep....I'm smarter, better and more politically aware than you, fence sitting is the only path forward to fixing this mess we are in.

If I could sum up politics in America...well, heh, CHECK THIS OUT!

Feeling PWND Yet? South Park, Family Guy, Simpsons, and TV taught me all I needed to know. Both are awful but the Right is just worse.

Same here.

I was low-key disappointed how little bug-smashing there was and how many fucking leadership classes there were.

Still a good book, I just expected way more action.
I mean the point of the book was to yell about Eisenhower's recent nuclear policies, and talk about a possible future society lead by veterans. The Bugs unfortunately just were kinda a afterthought.

Using South Park clips to make a political point is incredibly soy.

It kinda bums me out the movie completely removed the skinnies and their alliance with the bugs and basically just turned the bugs into animals.

Humans are still in the right in both versions, but in one the Bugs are more explicitly malicious rather than just implicitly.

so, no solutions then? just crying and bullshit.

You're interacting. Also, I've given solutions. I've implied solutions. I try to engage people here in good faith.

You and your couple of crew members who sit on this thread just don't like my solution is not THE NEXT OUTSIDER WHO WILL SAVE US THIS TIME FOR REAL GUYS WARP SPEED AHEAD

Please apply the Final Solution to yourself.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

If you get more used to Heinlein’s temperament, it’s not that he was invested in the concept of specifically veteran lead future societies, though I think at that point in his career he would’ve supported the idea, but more of an exploration of the maxim “the value of a thing is what you’re willing to pay for it.”

That’s one of his sort of core premises

Heinlein’s entire sci fi wheelhouse, his territory in the genre, was more about speculative culture and philosophy than tech. His later works trended towards somewhat hardass, somewhat libertarian characters asserting independence from clueless bureaucratic societies that held them back from being total badasses

In the movie the bugs aren't malicious at all, the attack on earth was a false flag, the bugs don't have space travel, earth gov just needed a war

Hey old nigger, do you think complaining that people find you retarded will make them change their mind ? Do you think that trying to minimise your opps ( "you and your couple of crews" ) will make others accept your retarded takes easier ?
Also, where did I admit to being a redditor ? You know you can just admit you are a mentally deficient faggot and apologise, or I can continue to rub your face in it.

The expansion of flock is what has tipped me over the edge and made me extremely concerned about thiel and his pet mass surveillance project, with the way th anarcho tyranny system has been operated the usual modus operandi of not even bothering to pursue actual criminals, and when they do end up Infront of a judge the either walk or get something like a misdemeanor offense while the laws and systems in place are utilized as a cudgel against normal people. Remember big tech showing how dangerous they were during 2020 and after jan 6 all the stops were pulled where peoples phones were used to snitch on them. That shit is waiting on the wings with a completed AI powered surveillance state.

Ignoring that flock also gives information to insurance companies so you now have a completely separate cudgel that would be used to beat you down. These mass surveillance systems operate off the loophole of selling information to the government, iirc for a while one of Amazon's biggest contracts was selling data to the feds.

Objectively incorrect and the fact you believe this makes me think less of you.

Even Verhoeven said that's not true.

We are outright shown, multiple times, that the bugs are capable of interplanetary travel. The Terrans did not launch a bug meteor at themselves.
