I was just in the breakout session entitled "Chasing the East Coast Vote". It was interesting and the right is making excellent progress in New Hampshire and Pennsylvania in places, among others.
But in the Q&A part, at least two Californians and some other West Coast people sucked up question time to ask dumb questions about political strategy in LA local elections or whatever. Like goddamn, I'm sorry, I'm sure it sucks to live in a blue shithole like LA, but I'm in this room because I wanted to hear solutions to problems with east coast blue shitholes like Philly or Baltimore, not LA or Seattle. (And yes, there are actual important strategic differences. The west coast is goofy in a different way to the east coast. And I don't even know what's been going on with the midwest recently.)
But did you show up in a pickle suit?
But whose date would I steal?
Actually, I will note that the women at this event are far better looking than women I've encountered at other political events (like protests in DC). In general there's good looking women here, but even the more homely women here still take care of themselves and put effort into their appearances and it shows.
Also Roald Dahl's ugly thoughts spiel probably applies too.
If you wake up in the morning and the only thing you can think about is how much you hate the awful racist capitalist hellhole you live in... that's probably not good psychologically. That's probably not good for you and that'll show in your looks.
In comparison to waking up feeling grateful that you live in America and you want to keep it from turning into a third world hellhole, is probably a much healthier attitude.
