I would disagree, wouldn't Fuentes and his army of groypers be considered "alt-right"? I will agree that the definition of alt-right has shifted quite a bit in the past decade but even the Tea Party probably could be considered "alt-right" if you get down to it.

I remember when the whole "alt-right" label began and, at the time, I thought it was totally astroturfed. A bunch of "journalists" found relatively obscure people with extreme views, promoted them for free, and made them out to be a bunch of influential bogeymen. I remember Richard Spencer getting a ton of airtime when I was fairly confident at the time that you only knew about the guy if you spent too much time on the Internet and in niche spaces. Same thing with Nick "The Fed Informant" Fuentes.

The term 'alt right' has been hijacked and so watered down by the left that its one of those terms that just rings hollow. Its morphed from Hillary defining them as online Trump supporters shitposting Pepes, to a full on mainstream populist movement with is non-sequential victories. Alt-right was how democrats tried to smear republicans by lumping them in with white nationalists but it didn't succeed swaying anyone from voting for Trump except RINOs.
