I don't know how Bongino plans to retain or return to where he was following this year. You KNOW what the satellites are capable of but certain areas you just get these absurdly lazy smudge jobs with horrendous crops, why even put something there if its that impossible to make out what it is up close?

Because Google earth works by stitching together a bunch of photographs from a bunch of different satellites. The process is automatic and they use a different technology for oceans as well. There was an island of the coast of Australia that didn’t actually exist, nobody bothered to cross reference and it was a black spot because there was neither ocean bottom data nor an actual island there.
