I didn't love it, but I enjoyed it. Achillea as handled better than feared. She was a tough fighter but not a girl boss. The shitty stock of gladiators were still all better than her.

I assume her first fight in the arena will be the dwarfs and I don't think her winning will fall in girl boss. They're training her to fight multible opponents.

I just hope it then moves into her fighting other women. I do wonder though, what is the actual story of this show going to be long term? Ashur will obviously ultimately never come out on top. Archillea just fighting and winning freedom is kind of meh. Doing another slave rebellion? That's lame. I'll be cutious to actually find out what the show is about.

Well, I'm expecting something like in the prequel, where she fights in some big battle or whatever, and gains her freedom, while Ashur gets shanked in some dark alley.
They've already hinted at it, because they're rebuilding the large arena and I expect, like in the prequel, to be some sort of celebration of that event.

The original show really did shine with John Hannah as Batiatus in the first season and Gods of the Arena, scheming and murdering to climb the Roman social ladder, finally getting to the top, and then having it all crash down around him. Gods of the Arena showed it was more than capable of being the main plot on its own, and the later seasons, while good, really did suffer from not having that plot, with Crassus/Caesar being a poor substitute. I figure they're going to try and do the same thing again with Ashur, but as the main plot this time.

Still too early!
Let me cope, nigger!

In Ep 3 the ape can't fight because she's sad because trama or something. There's some plotting, some gay men kissing, and the doctori kicking ass in the only good scene.
Nothing good is happening with this dumpster fire.
I'm out.
Yeah, ep3 was anemic.
Even the sexy scenes with the slave girls got ruined because immediately after, we get some fags humping.
:lossmanjack:

Except the gay nigga moment, ep4 was solid.
There was less focus on the niggerette and more on Ashur and political machinations.
I also noticed something in the preview, which I believe it's an easter egg. Our nubian protagonist seems to have the same armour as the legionnaires of Scipio from the movie Gladiator.

But you still can't escape the fact that the show is centred around a magical nigger who can take on man after man in the arena.

Edit: watched it because of your post, skipped though the nigger shit.
Much stronger episode and nice to see Ashur kicking ass. Don't like the new actor for Caesar, much prefered the rougher looking Home and Away star. I wonder if they are going to do a Caesar captured by pirates storyline, even though that happened before Spartacus' revolt.

I'm enjoying the show, but there just aren't the characters and drama the original had. There isn't the journey or connection to them.

6 Episodes in and it still feels like it's building and laying groundwork to get going but I am unclear as to what that is? Will the end of the season just be the arena rebuilt and Agorilla triumphing on its sands against the brothers Ferox?

Will it be building to something with Caesar and a war against the Cilicians? Or to do with Crassus and Pompey at the gates of Rome? Is it the first and the latter being later seasons?

Maybe it's good that I could not tell you where the season will end, but maybe that means it'll just be a small triumph. Ashur gets one over on Caesar? Or someone else. He's just on the back foot of everything. Say he gets a victory in the Arena? So then what?

DeKnight was always planning on multiple seasons so it will probably be a small victory that promises more conflict.

I just hope it is something that feels like a satisfying payoff which Agorilla beating some Dwarfs won't be. We haven't had anything as good with Ashur scheming as we did in the original.

On DeKnight, the actress who plays Cornellia is his wife. I was shocked when I found that out as from the amount of gay in the shows, his Buck Angel appearance and horrible tatts. I always thought he was gay.

LOL dead thread is dead just like the show.
It has it's moments, but it's not the original season. Six episodes in and it feels like there's not much progress.

Still, this episode we got to see the tits and body of Ceasar's wife and it was glorious. I've grown too accustomed to seeing uggos and fatties in shows, so my neurons activated instantly. Niggerette also had few scenes, and it made the episode even better.
And the finale made me laugh so much, because it reminded me of the Chucky movies, with the little shits running around and being all spooky.

It's already episode 7. It will get good...right?
