Sense8 cancelled. The salt begins. - LGBT oriented show shot down by Netflix

Netflix is like 'Rain Man'-level meticulous about tracking who's watching what. Their analytics are first-rate. If they cancelled a show, it's because the audience isn't growing by the initial projections. All of these people bitching means nothing to them because they know how many people were actually watching the show vs. how many people are offended just because they like being offended.

Yep, which is why they are in a panic right now because they really didn't intend a huge reaction to Narcos and now they're trying to figure out how to make season 3 without about 80% of the cast that made the first two seasons such a hit. And Stranger Things wasn't predicted to hit nearly a third of the numbers it did in the first 3 weeks

Never heard of it till today but I'm sure am glad of that fact

Was the show worth a shit? The story proper opening with a Doctor Who companion fucking a tranny with a rainbow coloured dildo right before a pride parade was too cringy for me to keep going.

It had good core ideas, but spent way too much time injecting the directors' fetishes and quibbling over relationship drama for the underlying conspiracy that made the whole premise interesting to feel like anything other than a distraction.

I managed to tough it out through season 1 (I was home sick, I had to watch something), but when I saw season 2 came out I had zero interest.

God and how and I and hate and people and who and doesn't and know and how and to and use and commas.

I saw close friends get mad at Sense 8 and The Get Down get cancelled and 13 Reasons Why renewed.

First of all, The Get Down season 2 was horseshit, it brought back the worst parts of the first season. They all like Sense 8 because the main character is transgender & there's supposedly more LGBTBBQ and POC representation... they're confusing representation with fetishism.
If I remember correctly, they all were hooked on 13 Reasons Why for a good 4 days until someone had to come out with "GUYS THIS IS A BAD SHOW TO ENJOY AS A LEFTIST!" and it suddenly became cool to bash on the show they originally had no problem with. They're all guilty of liking something that goes against their holier than thou politics and projecting it onto Netflix.

Now they're calling Netflix headquarters, all Netflix is doing is releasing the shows. They aren't the real people behind the shows, this is just customer service for people who have a bad connection and shows with wrong descriptions/ratings.

wait, the wachowskis actually worked on this? looking at the director credits by episode, they didn't really care much on season 2. it was mostly one instead of both compared to the first season. The Wachowskis themselves are bored with Sense8, kids. Leave them alone.

I think they came up with the idea, demanded there be LGBT&Co. representation, and left their underlings to do the dirty work while they took all the credit.

You know why people outside of those minority groups don't watch shows/movies/games starring female/ethnic minority/LGBT protagonists? Now I've never seen Sense8 to know if it's the case, but a lot of them are VERY preachy, especially ones with trans protagonists. People don't like to be preached at so unless they agree with leftism whole heartedly they stay away. I think of all the shows with minority protagonists that are successful with people outside of their group and they all have one thing in common: they're not essentially propaganda pieces. Sure Liz Lemon was a strong, independent female character, but 30 Rock wasn't a feminist tirade. She wasn't a Mary Sue that immediately beat Jack and Tracy at everything just because she's a woman. She fails sometimes and she earns what she gets. When my leftist colleagues complain my writing doesn't have enough LGBT&Co. representation, I tell them "you know why? It's because if I give them any flaws, you'll go ballistic. If I don't paint all trans people as saints, and have everyone else learn to check their cis privileges, you'll call out for my blood. If I don't write the characters the way YOU want them, you'll slander my name and try to run me out of town on the rail. If I don't write any LGBT characters you hate me, if I try my best to write them as characters with flaws like everyone else, you hate me. This is why I don't listen to you and write whatever I damn well please."

Never heard about it. From what heard, it seems like a reasonable concept botched by the impression that LGBTs are almost solely into fetishes, novela-esque drama, and there's that over-sized budget. Netflix shouldn't expect to be an "invincible" money making giant when $9 million dollars an episode costs more than the profit.

watched first episode, thought it was pretentious and boring, proceeded to watch better things.

and by "better things" i mean american gods.

...It's like they were trying to paint troons as freaks.

"Huh, we have a transexual love scene to film here...You know what would classy this motherfucker up? Let's have a shot of a sticky rainbow-colored strap-on being tossed off the bed!"
From what I've heard there were a good chunk of graphic sex scenes.

wtf, just watch the Power Rangers, it's the same shit for a fraction of the production cost.

The concept was interesting enough. Take 8 people from various walks of life and link their minds together, this gives each of them the combined skills of 8 people and basically makes them superheroes.

In execution all they did was preach to the audience about social justice and have a hell of a lot of super sex. Actual plot happened in short bursts, and each season could probably be cut down to a single 2 hour movie with no loss.
