An entire platoon of Ukraine's 38th Marine Brigade surrendered south of Myrnohrad. They were completely isolated and abandoned by their commanders. If nothing is done, this could be the first batch out of many more as the Ukrainian garrison of Myrnohrad is threatened with total encirclement. The General Staff of the AFU is risking an entire brigade to delay Russian advance into the north of Donetsk Oblast.

The delay caused by the AFU leaving 300-700 men in Mynohrad is gonna be 1-2 weeks cause the Russians will have to go building by building. The only reason they even went through with it is because they hoped they could do larger counteroffensive operations in the north of alleviate their forces in Shakhove and regain some fortified positions (that operation completely failed as the Russians now have Shakhove and still have the fortified positions).

That "big" Ukrainian counteroffensive already happened (or at least the first stage of it did) and it was a total failure. If there is somehow a second stage to this shitty counteroffensive then the odds are that it will be a total nothingburger and the frontline in that section will be frozen until Mynohrad is cleared.
