Snakes are the worst pet to get if you cannot take care of pets. Dogs and cats have some autonomy depending on the individual and birds are smart enough to take care of themselves. Snakes in general and ball pythons in particular are far more demanding. Also, ball pythons are so domesticated that many individuals cannot function without a human to take care of them.

First off that you only need to feed them with only one frozen thawed mice every 7-10 days depending on the species, and they only poop once in a week depending on how often you feed them. They also need much less space, whereas your dogs and cats will take over your whole house. On top of that, dogs need to take walks outside for mental stimulation, something snakes don't need.

So long as you offer proper heating, housing, food wand water, snakes are way easier pets

Yes, snakes are easy AS LONG AS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND DO THINGS THE PROPER WAY!!! These people are not diligent. They overfeed the dogs, Ian is fed stuff that causes him digestion problems such as IBS (which was confirmed by accident to be Anisa's fault), Anisa likes to experiment with the food she makes and gives human food to dogs, the entire house is disgusting due to lack of cleaning.

Snakes expect you to do things for them. A dog/cat will remind you to feed/walk them. Hell, some of them might go hunting on their own. A pet snake once forgotten will not be able to do much, especially in that house. Anisa will not respect its boundaries, she will forget to take care of it, she will experiment with its needs to its detriment, she will postpone its care until she feels like, she will let it get sick in their filthy home and she will drag it out of its cage whenever she wants to so it off in streams.

All in all, snakes can be an easy pet if you are normal, which those two are not.
