Unironically get a real job. The days of being a tuber or streamer being a stable long term way to make a living are long over. Ever since the homofication of the internet only the most jeetlike perfect slaves are capable of it.
Even in "da good old days" it was bad idea to make YouTube your job if you didn't have solid plan B for time when your channel died.
This is true and it makes me want to avoid the YouTube History scene. These people take what can be an opportunity to explore and share an interesting topic and instead turn it into a means to own the chuds or libtards or whoever the enemy is in their heads.
Yeah thats one of main reasons why I rarely watch historytube nowdays.
Another problem is that 90% kahntent is just same handful of subjects repeated ad nauseam.
On side note faggot who came up with that lazer eye "meme" deserves to suffer.

Oh for sure but you could at least milk a decade or so out of a good channel before actually needing to exercise the exit plan. It seems like nowadays it's two to three years tops and that's if you make it at all.

Based this so much
Zoomer's content was nice because, at least for me as an history illiterate, it gave me directions to look into concerning the lies of allied propaganda we all grew up with.

Once you're free from the ideological brainwash (muh democracy!!) it becomes obvious that the WW2 founding myth of liberal democracies is largely BS, but it's such a complex topic with so many esteemed historians towing the official "good allies vs evil germans" narrative that it would be difficult to start deconstructing on your own.

Of course ZH's insistence on how Hitler was a complete dindu and basically a saint who was unwillingly dragged into war left and right is quite funny though.

Completely shocked no one here has posted Part-Time Explorer's near 2 hour documentary on the Edmund Fitzgerald
Needless to say its a masterclass in effortposting historical drama and research. On a different note, him and certain of the other history adjacent youtubers and content creators I'd classify as being in a more comfy sector of history content where they strive to interact with the content as much as possible but are highly thoughtful and ethics minded, where as I feel most of the map crazy youtube personas now are comparably pretty unpredictable.

Does anyone know where the love of God goes when the waves turn the minutes to hours by the way?

Can anyone help me with Portable orange video on Leather arpon club? was rome gay or not?
They weren't at "BURN THE QUEERS" levels but the "everyone railed boys in the ass and it was seen as normal" narrative that gained popularity in the 1970s is also complete nonsense based on almost nothing. Historically it's closer to the middle.

Gay people were around but it wasn't a progressive homo paradise. Some people were more tolerant of shit like pederasty and general butt piracy, whereas others were absolutely not. It depends on the area and the period, and even the individual philosopher talking about it. Homosexuality was never seen as actual love or a real relationship, it was just a power or sex thing. Lesbians weren't thought about at all kek.

As a general rule, being gay was seen as strange and abnormal but mostly harmless unless you gave into your vices and made taking it up the ass your entire personality. It was a social taboo at the best of times, and in some of the less wholesome chungus periods of Roman history it was criminalized and treated as completely unacceptable.

Another YouTuber decided to essentially squat zoomers handle like you would a domain.

Imagine if after Alex Jones got banned off youtube Hasan Piker created a channel called "Shmalex Jones" and it was just a single upload of a patreon video he made about how 9/11 wasn't an inside job. "Oh I thought it was important people got the reeeeal story" no dude you want to ape views off some other dude you hate being banned, you're not fucking slick.

This retard genuinely thinks that people who watch/search for zoomer historian are going to be redirected to his slop channel with zero content and just get sucked into watching his EPIC and FACTUAL and totally NOT PROPAGANDA video about ww2 and not just... click off after realizing it's not ZH?

Remember LAC just presented the evidence that fags weren't accepted and the evidence that he could knockdown easily which is great for a lawyer but kinda shitty for a historian so you should always seek more sources and arguments

any chud who does excellent history videos, i have seen leftist faggots on my reccomended
In order for us to label them as a chud or a libtard, they would need to inject 21st century political takes into their history videos. Doing so precludes them from making "excellent history videos". My general rule of thumb is that a history video becomes dogshit slop the instant modern politics are brought up, so I couldn't point to a single "chud" who makes anything other than dogshit slop.

Adrian goldsworthy does excellent videos and looks like a proto chud but he doesnt sperg out about modern politics
He has also done a number of appearances on my favorite tabletop wargaming channel, LittleWarsTV, and the guy who runs it is a little chuddy. I wouldn't be surprised if Goldsworthy leaned right. Helps that Goldsworthy has actually published, unlike these Wikipedia-reading chucklefucks.

No shit? His biography of Augustus is what turned my passing interest in Roman history into an autistic obsession. I assumed he was old as dirt or long dead tbh. I'm fucking shocked that he makes videos at all, let alone tabletop wargaming channel appearances. This is like learning that Hans Delbrück is alive and well, and he streams on Twitch.
