I know this is an obvious statement but I’ll make it anyway: 50-year mortgages will result in an even bigger asset bubble as housing prices will shoot up to make up the difference in price. Coincidentally boomers are scared that housing prices are dropping when they need to sell their houses right now. This is nothing more than a housing bailout for boomers who put all their “investments” into their house. All this will do is ensure housing remains even further out of reach from young people. In fact, it’ll pretty much lock them out forever.
