Disney World Guests Are Dying At An Alarming Rate

The Most Magical Place on Earth has seen an increase in death. Four people have died at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, in the last 20 days.

On November 2, as reported by Entertainment Weekly, a woman in her 40s visiting Disney World was taken to a local hospital, where she died. The news was confirmed by a representative from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office via a statement shared with the outlet. No cause of death was shared, but authorities denied “foul play.” Disney World didn’t provide a comment when asked by EW.

This is the fourth parkgoer to die in the last few weeks. On October 16, Summer Equitz reportedly committed suicide while staying at Disney World’s Contemporary Resort hotel located near Magic Kingdom. Five days later, a man in his 60s was found unresponsive in his bed located at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. His wife called 911, and medical personnel arrived and took him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Two days later, on October 23, another guest at the Contemporary Resort died after a reported “medical emergency.” And then the previously mentioned death on November 2 occurred, less than two weeks later. Also, on October 7, a woman in her 60s died after riding the Haunted Mansion attraction at Disneyland in California. She was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead.

While none of these deaths occurred inside the actual theme parks or on a ride, they did happen in and around Disney property, which includes many hotels, restaurants, highways, and more. At the moment, these deaths have not been directly connected to Disney World or Disneyland personnel, food, or infrastructure.

Still, for a place that markets itself as the happiest and most magical place on Earth, the body count is getting shockingly high. Of course, deaths have happened at Disney World before, but the frequency of these recent events has put the park in the spotlight in a way I imagine Disney execs aren’t excited about.

If I had to stand in one line for 4 hours in the hot Florida shit weather, I'd die too.
Wait times are actually way down with sub-1 hour waits during peak times for rides because fewer people are going to the park due to insane prices for everything. Disney used to be able to hide news stories about deaths on their properties so this story is yet another example of them losing prominence.

Nice to know that Disney World are just as big as money whores as Disneyland is.

I wanna know what happened with the case of the pretty doctor who cautioned the staff she had allergies and then died after they served her food with...I think nuts (?) because her husband was suing

Doesn't Disney have a policy where they ship people outside the park so they wouldn't be declared dead inside it? Anyways I wonder if it's because the average park goer is more unhealthy, or that they remove water fountains and shades so you'd buy more overpriced drinks.

Disney World has so many fat people now so it's unsurprising that they're all dying from heat stroke.
It's really that simple.

The average Disney adult is NOT healthy in the slightest. And it's getting worse by the year.

The obvious being 'lol fat' but these people have many comorbities... so they're on medications that can make both sunlight and even slight exercise hazardous.

As for the suicides.. To state the blantantly obvious... many- if not the majority- of Disney fans are deeply depressed with little-to-no impulse control. So it's a given suicide is going to happen.

I wouldn't be surprised if these numbers stay steady. Especially with the suicides. I expect there's a lot of sad souls going "Oh shit, we can do that?" And will probably copycat in the near future.

They wanted to visit the new Coco section of the park, so they became skeletons to get the full experience.

Can't even go more than 3 sentences without a factual error... either she died at the park or she died at hospital, she can't do both.

And it just goes on like that..... trying to make a story out of nothing.

They finally fess up at the end..... "Well, they didn't die at the park, but, they were close to a place the park owned, that counts!"

I'm no fan of Disney at all, but, only modern journalists could make me side with them by being this scatterbrained in their "reporting".

Disney has a arrangement with law enforcement where they ship bodies to a hospital where they get declared dead there. This was due to them owning the local county in Florida. This is the reporter trying to avoid Disney doing an ahkuatlly lawsuit.

This may also be due in part of Florida taking control of the county away.

Suicides in the hotels and parking garages are super common apparently. People go trying to get that one last bit of happiness they felt as a kid I guess.

Universal also had a guy this year. That guy apparently was on deaths door and had to get staff help him on a rollercoaster. Spinal shit is the rumour. Apparently he couldnt keep upper body control and his neck and flopped around so much he died.

Based on the pictures I've seen online a huge majority of Disneyland crowds are massively obese reddit manchildren in the 350-500 pound range.

Not exactly surprising they're stroking out.

I am going to posit my own hypothesis here:

People are increasingly unhealthy and the stress of walking from the churro stand to Pirates of the Carribean is too much of an increase of exercise at once. The strain is triggering health conditions, causing their death.

This isn't true. Death generally isn't declared on site as it is usually not declared until life saving measure have ended. People have been declared dead on Disney property, mostly from vehicle accidents, but since most actual deaths in the park are from things like heart attacks, any medic on the scene is going to start chest compressions.

Very stupid article, no details on anything except that one is a suicide and really shouldn't count. I'm not an actuary or anything but I have to imagine when you have thousands and thousands of people traveling to sunny Florida and spending time in a new environment you're gonna lose a few to random underlying health issues and it's really no one's fault. Heart attacks happen.
