Basically they were out fucking around doing his tactical badass shooting courses, except with an M1 Garand and that's fine. The problem was his kid had never handled a garand before and instead of providing proper instruction, filmed his kid looking like an idiot while mocking him for not knowing how to insert the clip. That basically flushed his entire tacticool military badass(he was an air refueling tanker guy, and not a pilot. that's fine but some combat spec ops guy he was not) after spending years using every acronym he could find or even make up.

IV8888, when Barry died, the channel may as well have. Dude is boring and there's only so many videos you can watch about how amazing a cheap milsurp rifle can be at doing things before you get sick of it.

Colion Noir. The novelty of a right wing black guy faded pretty quickly, and as a result now he struggles to break 100k views a video while having 3 million subscribers. His corproate polished presentation while he was an NRA mouthpiece probably didn't help.

22plinkster. Yes he was doing some interesting things with 22s, and he's a good shot. The problem is that much like shooting a brick of .22 it gets stale no matter what you're doing and you move on. His channel isn't dead for the number of subs he has, but it's definitely dying.

TiborasaurusRex, this guy crashed his channel into the fucking dirt. Mostly posted about long range shooting, gave correct information and presented it well enough, even shilling his online classes he was still throwing out info that someone could use, got his hands on cool guns and gear... then he decided to go super turbo mega christian to the point of hardly mentioning gun shit for a couple months at a time, and eventually fell into politsperging with a bit of conspiracy idiot flavor driving off his audience.

8541Tactical. Guy went too hard on shilling products way too fast, quit posting altogether a year or so ago, and the couple years before that it was nothing but SHOT show videos. He still posts to instagram to an audience of basically no one... again mostly SHOT show stuff. You could mistake a large portion of his content for being a gun related Home Shopping Network when he wasn't doing videos answering viewer questions.

Sootch00. Old guy, easily remembered for his tactical pouty face when shooting pistols. Rarely shoots more than 50 yards in his backyard to "review" rifles and optics, EDC this and EDC that. Had a new product on his channel to sell you every week that was always the best thing ever unless it was a blatant piece of shit. He was like a less retarded version of Nutnfancy, shilled tactical EDC pants, tactical purses for holding AR mags(as in a separate bag with a shoulder strap just for carrying around a dozen mags or whatever). Guy is boring as shit, and I want to say fell off when it was a constant stream of clones of other guns out of Turkey and some other places about 6-7 years ago.

But still none of them compare to Karl and his repeated failures. Demolition Ranch was smart and got out of the game to retire when it made sense.

Maybe, but it's also likely more that those channels just started sooner when the bar for entry was much lower, and some content was better than no content.

Forgotten Weapons has gone on for so long because he seems to always be able to find something interesting to discuss and show off, while mostly avoiding politics entirely and didn't run into the problems other channels claimed to have showing assembly of guns or inserting magazines being a violation of youtube's policies. Same with Demolition Ranch, he just realized he didn't need to keep working and could instead focus entirely on his family.

Then you look at a channel like Garand Thumb, he started his channel ages ago as well, but his channel didn't take off until a lot of those other channels I mentioned started falling off, and he did so with better video production, more interesting videos, and not having the personality of a brick while trying to pretend he's some kind of badass.

Administrative Results didn't exist 5 years ago, but again was going out and making more interesting videos than a lot of these old dudes sitting at a table or maybe plinking in their backyard.

Ballistic High-Speed, around 5 years old, they have a gimmick but it's interesting and they can pull in views.

Kentucky Ballistics. His channel is about 10 years old and didn't do fuck all for the most part till about 7 years ago. The man is practically a cartoon character on camera but he's not boring and does just fine now.

Hickock45, his channel isn't doing amazing(8 million subs and can't get 100k views a video) however he was already retired so didn't need to do youtube for a living(as far as anyone could tell) and didn't have the personality of a tactical brick and his videos are just him fucking around and having fun as an old guy with a shooting range in his backyard.

TFBTV is an older channel, not as old as some of the now dying channels, but he actually posts interesting videos and again, doesn't have the personality of a brick, goes to gun shows and shills products but doesn't do it constantly but more importantly is willing to criticize products without fear of the free shit gravy train ending.

If it weren't for the fact that other channels survived, and more came up to replace those old guys, I would agree that the end of the obama era and youtube's policies were a problem. But with as many newer channels as there are in the past decade that have been created and done well, or just eventually picked up and have done well I can't agree with that. PSR, The Gun Collective(which is just a dude talking at a table), Brandon Herrera, etc. there's tons of channels eating up the marketshare nutnfancy, MAC, Sootch, IV8888, etc. used have and then some.

I will give him credit for one thing before I start bashing him, he had access to a law enforcement training course in Northern Utah, which I swear is now open to the public because Brassfacts looks like he shoot there himself, and did some sort of tactical training. That said he acted like an absolute tool while doing it, he bragged that he had access to course and flat out said something like "it's not for civilians" and used .22LR conversion kits instead of shooting actual 5.56, especially when 5.56 was as cheap as it was back then. But for someone like me and my generation, being young and susceptible, it looked cool and was fun to watch.

I think I remember this video, he brought his kid to the tactical range and shot .22LR conversion with him. Nutnfancy was giving him grief rather than trying to support him. He did that to his friends too and would talk shit when their AA battery EoTechs failed in the cold compared to his Aimpoint. The military badass shit got old quick because even me at 21 years old could pick up he wasn't trained for tactical shooting nor had he deployed. His pistol reviews where just him sitting at a table talking about them instead of shooting them. I think the videos that made me question him was when he did a review comparing a Glock 22 to a USP .40 compact. It was an apple to oranges comparison so he had redo the video because his comment section pointed out comparing magazine sizes between a full size and compact wasn't a fair comparison. He redid it with a Glock 23 and then complained about mag size (+1 round difference but somewhat fair this time) and the sight length being shorter on a USP (how about shooting them to see if you can still hit your targets at 25 and 50 yards?). It was a lazy review and despite being almost 40 minutes long, it didn't have much to say. He did pass around Fuddlore in the M9 video saying the reason the DoD didn't choose a glock back in the 80s was that they were unsure about striker fired pistols, even though both HK submitted striker fired pistols for the bid.

Of course as the years went on, Nutnfancy's quality or knowledge never improved and other GunTubers rose up to replace him.
