Passenger cars weigh anywhere from 3000-5000 lbs. Semis can weigh anywhere from 25,000 to 80,000 lbs, depending on their load. It wouldn't matter if the vehicles the semi hit were old-school rigid body-on-frame cubes from the 1950-70s. Like we see in the video, a loaded semi at 70mph will still punch through multiple vehicles like they were tissue paper, regardless of crumple zones or not. There's just too much energy involved in that much mass going that fast to use it all up in a single vehicle's crumple zone.
