Twitch & Their Competitors / r/LivestreamFail / Live Streamer Community - Imitation of Hollywood

This headline made me think of the Christina Grimmie case. She was a youtube singer that was murdered by a fan at a meet and greet event. The fan had a parasocial relationship with her and actually thought she was in love with him. Christina wasn't even a thot streamer, she just posted videos of her singing. I'm surprised that worse hasn't happened to these twitch thots considering the dynamics they form with their simps are much more intimate and unhealthy. Yeah, donating to a streamer doesn't mean the streamer likes you or owes you anything, but these people don't live in reality or understand that. If I was a twitch thot with thousands of drooling simps I would be terrified to step foot outside. These people are obsessed and there's a very fine line between love and hate when it comes to obsession. The obsession becomes so insense that the only way to satifsy the mental torture is to marry the person or kill them.
Not that people deserve to be assaulted, but I think there is some responsibility on streamers to set boundaries with a crowd of people who they know worship them. It's like women who keep male friends around that they know have a crush on them but no intention of starting a relationship with them, they just like the attention (Another fatal example... Bianca Devins. RIP.)

Checking through the social media, nobody hasnt ask if they found the suspect yet as Emiru mention about it but seems this individual has probably left the location. I am not sure on this but i havent seen any recent updates tho. Can anyone vounch on this or would you like me to pass on this subject?

This makes me think that causes a lot of women to do this stuff for money
Poll for thread: Would you have gay sex with Ethan Ralph for three million dollars? I guess if you are a women it isn’t gay sex but he will constantly be trying to fist your butthole so it’s kind of like gay sex.

A question like that must burn in every twitch streamers head if they make it big.

Don't think the chick deserved to have hands put on her, but I 100% agree with this sentiment. It sucks that most streamers (not just specifically female ones) either don't get this or don't care.

You market yourself in a way that stresses the idea of a parasocial relationship and personal connection, and everything's hunkydory whenever the subs and donos roll in, but the second someone crosses a line by acting inappropriate in chat or sending weird DMs, they heel turn and act like they're ignorant to how they got there.

Benefit of the doubt to those who get that kind of shit without asking for it. It happens and is an unfortunate side effect of the internet's autistic userbase, but most of them 100% cultivate that behavior because it funds their mortgage.

My personal red flag is any streamer/content creator who uses any term like "Dad" or similar or validates that sort of rhetoric. How are you so dumb you don't see the warning signs that presents?

"BUH BUH BUH ITS JUST LE FUNNY JOKE!"
Yeah, until it isn't, retard.

That is completely standard for security guards.
Yep. I did the training years ago but seceurity guards are glorified 911 dialers. They have the same rigjhts as a business owner which means they can only ask people to leave and physically intervene if someone is in danger. They can't even push someone out a door if they refuse to leave.

It's one of the absolute worst jobs one can have.

100% agree on the need for streamers and celebs to set boundaries and enforce them.

Ed Sheeran and and Taylor Swift are two of the most parasocial celebrities out there, but they set boundaries and can afford the security to enforce them.

Asmongold has released another video.

He goes goes over several things regarding Twitch's continued failures over the past year. He says Twitch is a dying platform and they are the ones killing it.

  • Twitch's views are down almost 40% this year. I was watching yesterday but he says this is worse than pre-covid numbers.
  • Advertising is out of control and will soon be no better than network tv. Nobody wants to tune into a stream when theres a 30 second preroll ad and then 8 minutes of ads per hour.
  • Talks about how a furfag diaperpedo was featured on the front page and was only banned for one day.
  • Mentions how Twitch's fight against viewbotting has completely failed. Nobody is banned for viewbotting and smaller creators are getting completely screwed over by how their viewers are counted. Large creators can continue to have tens of thousands of bots inflating their numbers.
  • Talks about Twitch's biased Moderation team that does whatever they want and does not follow the ToS.
  • Talks about Emiru's situation and how Twitch has done almost nothing to help it until they were pressed by multiple managers/partners.
  • Talks about how they lied about the situation on their X post saying the guy was apprehended immediately, but he was allowed to walk away
  • He is hoping that Amazon is seeing whats going on and steps in before its too late.
Personally I don't think shit will be done. Amazon is just as disconnected. If by some miracle Dan Clancy gets outed and a new team steps in it will be the same shit.

Crazy people have been stalking, assaulting, and even murdering famous people due to parasocial delusions for decades, regardless of whether or not their targets qualified as wholesome goodie-goodies or prostitutes. The sense of intimacy and ease of interaction facilitated by the internet simply exacerbates this. Engaging in this dynamic, which many streamers cynically do, and as others said a failure to set boundaries, certainly doesn't help. But at the same time, I'm sure she could have just been vaguely nice to her viewers and some sperg would have probably gotten it into his head that she was his destined waifu.

Manipulation of the mentally ill, the delusional and the autistic is the scam.
You're really gleaning over my posts if you don't understand what the scam is at this point.
This is no different than if I went to a nursing home and told a bunch of dementia patients I was their husband and to sign everything they had over to me in their will.
Taking advantage of people who are nutters is taking advantage of people who are nutters. The equation doesn't change just because the scammer happens to be a girl that you would fuck.
I just realized that I'm fighting an uphill battle trying to get my point across with people who probably subscribe and donate to these new age Nigerian scammers, so I'm going to go ahead and hit the ejector seat on this thread because I don't think I'm going to be changing hearts and minds anytime soon.

It's a shame that you leave the thread, I kinda like that you say what you believe regardless whether it gets downrated. Kiwifarms should have more people like that.

It is different, for three reasons:

1. Dementia patients are protected from being able to take financial decisions
2. In your example, the scammer goes inside a protected area to exploit vulnerable people. In the twitch streaming way, the scammee go out of their way to follow. It's somewhat of a different relationship.
3. There are girl content creators like the singer who got killed, who do no thottery or social farming. Who are just very attractive and attract lurid attention for it.

It's wholly possible to think most streamers are scummy without thinking they deserve to die, as at least one person in this thread suggested.

I think if someone is so frail of mind, they should not have that much of unsupervised online time. If they don't end up donating to some streamer, they will to some poor quality charity, or an andrew tate, or some get rich quick scheme.

Your honor, my client couldn't possibly help himself. The defendant wore a playboy bunny outfit on an instagram post. She wore cosplays on Twitch streams, how could any man resist?

Yeah, she came up in this thread earlier. I wonder how security checks people before they get in. Anyways:

I guess this needs to be spelled out for some people. (not you, ozul, just in general)
When you're online seeing a personality you like, we'll stick with Emiru as an example, it's whatever: you want to donate to her? Sure, go ahead. You want to tell her she sucks and her simps are shit? You can do that on twitch chat, but you'll probably get banned from there. The playboy bunny costume drove you wild? Okay, fap away, just keep that to yourself.

Meeting her in person, at a convention, there are different rules. This really shouldn't need to be spelled out. It doesn't matter if she has some weird tiered system for twitch subs or discord, or whatever. And if you really are a fan, you'd probably know what limits there are, there are clip channels on different sites. At the con, say hi, snap a pic, chat for a few seconds, say thank you and get out, there's a line behind you.

If you're such a dead brained coomer that you shortcircuit at seeing her in person, don't even go to the con and see a shrink instead. As much as Twitch probably likes to say EVERYONE is welcome, not everyone is actually meant to go to these things.

In other news, this image from whatever stream with Emiru and Asmongold has been passed around on twitter:

I wonder if this Twitch CEO wants to be a Hugh Hefner type of guy. Hefner was born on april 9, 1926. Dan Clancy, January 11, 1964. Maybe he sees twitch as his virtual playboy mansion, with all the thots there. Who knows.

It's outrageous and I don't understand it. It's such a strange phenomenon. Just look at how many people are negative sticker reacting me, it's because despite the fact that they know that I'm right, that little twinge in their dick they get when they think about a cam slut brings out the white knight in them lol.
i doubt anyone here is white knighting for the camwhore lol

it's more a result of how feminism conditions people to think:
if you subscribe to the feminist worldview, then there is literally nothing wrong with what camgirls are doing - exploiting desperate lonely autistic virgins for money is perfectly acceptable behavior, they're filthy moids after all. it's all legitimate and justified.

when you accept that premise, then the rest just follows naturally: if she did nothing wrong, then whatever happens next can't be considered her fault, nor does she deserve any of it. she is a blameless victim, and implying otherwise is just misogyny and victim-blaming.

Private security at events like this are not police officers and don't have the power to arrest people. If the man simply walked away afterward they were right to let him go. Trying to stop him could have escalated the situation into further violence.

You are allowed to use violence up to and including lethal force to protect yourself and others against sexual assault. Sexual assault is also covered under citizens arrest in every state.

Such emotions in this thread.
It's not that hard to find a reasonable compromise between both positions. Simps are subhumans that should be removed from the gene pool.
Thots are subhuman parasites that exist because society allows these subpar males to exist.
I think we can all come together and agree to make being a simp or a thot a capital offense.
