Oh what am I saying, Bob will never change or do any reflecting.
Well, no. Because he is
genuinely mentally ill. Mental health professionals don't even like to treat people with his condition because they're so difficult to treat
A psychologically healthy but strained person would have hit their breaking point long ago. When his grandma died, when he got the sugars, when his father died, when he hit 40 and realised he had jack shit to show for it. Most people have those kinds of crises and have, even a brief, moment of self-awareness where they realise
something has to change. But not Blob. His psychosis is so deep that, to him, it's always
other people's fault that his health is going to shit, his career isn't what he wants it to be, his love life is non-existent.
Nah, he'll just show them to his nieces and nephews. To him, that's the same thing.
Thing is, to a psychologically healthy person, they
can be. A lot of people who, for whatever reason, can't or don't have children can and do tend to spend time with nieces and nephews. Or children of friends. Or they might marry someone with children and have stepchildren. And yes, there is that pang there that it's not
exactly the same as having your own children. But, for some people, looking after nieces and nephews or whatever is in some ways
better than having your own children, because you get all the benefits of having children with none of the drawbacks.
But to a narcissist like Bob, nieces and nephews are just a painful reminder that he'll never continue his own genetic legacy because he's so hateful and repulsive that no woman would be desperate enough to let him put babies in her.
Those poor kids. Autistic, with Chris, Sara and Bob as their adult influencers. And their grandmother is a complete pushover from what we've seen. They don't stand a chance.
Do they really have the 'tism? Or is that like a dumb question?
