Not sure why she even went. Twitch did nothing to protect her. Her private security being banned would have been all the information I needed to know that I wouldn't be safe there. All the red flags were there and she still chose to go. Not saying it's her fault. But I don't see how this would have ended any other way. It's been said by other big streamers for years now that Twitchcon is not a safe place to be.

Edit: obligatory Asmongold statement. He will be addressing this on his stream soon probably.

Edit: Reading more into it, don’t have a ton of time, but multiple people are showing evidence that Twitch only banned the guy and no security followed him as he left. No arrest, either.

to tl;dr: liability.
There is about zero quality control for "personal security". You have everything from super-chill and friendly guys who will be nice and polite and "Can you please move for just a second we're coming through here" or "Hey can you help me get everyone back? <Talent> is feeling a little crowded" to superbuilt 400-lb solid muscle guys who just stare down anyone into polite behavior despite never moving. you have very business & brusk types who know the exact legal definition of assault and the affirmative defensese there of to just push people asside without a word. You've got observant scanner types who can pick out the twitchy gooners and have someone go talk to them and make it clear they are being watched.

and then you also have napoleon syndrome tards power-tripping who will pop a massive boner at having some or any authority. To say nothing of the ones putting on a show to impress yon faire maiden hoping for some Kevin Costner action. And very ironically its often the 'part timers' who roll up for an event who are often in this category , because when you have 12 full-time employees and get a request for 100, you will compromise on quality.

So when you are twitch, if Titty-Steamer-of-the-Month rolls up with her roided out ex-marines and they start powertripping on paying customers, you now have a bunch of people on social media complaining about the jerks. Or god forbid on of them hits/injures an attendee - you are now on the hook for infinite liability.
So Twitch bans - or at least sidelines from official Twitch events at the con - private security. Which is reasonable.

What ISN'T reasonable is not having sufficient levels of security to replace them. you don't need to give everyone a handler, but there should have been a guy in the Thot Pit.
However I bet there were complaints about beefy built guys in the background of their handshake with their waifu.

Emiru has been publically talking about how she's being forced to do it to keep her show

idk about you but these 2 being friends with emiru and harping about twitchcon really makes you think this could have all been a setup

But you have a point, next to the security guy that looked to atelast be strong there was also a girl that also seemed to be security. A girl would not have been able to do anything against a guy.

Asmongold is in close contact with Emiru. He called her right after this happened. He does allude to accountability for Twitch soon to follow. Whether or not this is in the form of a lawsuit remains to be seen.

Emiru said in her tweet that Twitch security did absolutely nothing to help and their staff didn't even bother coming over to see what happened. Disgusting display from them. I hope they get hit hard financially from this. They've been doing this for years.

Well that's certainly worse than first impression.

This statement plus the previous videos gives me a good idea of the "security" in place when this happened.

The meet-and-greet stations are all lined up side-by-side in front of their corresponding queues. It appears that each active station is assigned one "crewmember" (in a bright green shirt, not security) to manage the queue and hold attendee phones for pictures. While stanchions form barriers for the queues, there are no barriers between the stations themselves.

After an attendee sees a TwitchCon guest, he is directed to exit behind the stations.

Emiru is on the second to last station next to a thoroughfare. The station at the end appears to be specifically designed for vtubers, currently occupied by Henya. Like the rest of the meet-and-greet area, there is no barrier between the two stations. Emiru has three people accompanying her: a Twitch crewmembers, her manager, and her bodyguard. The manager and bodyguard are standing against the wall of the vtuber station, so they can't see people approaching from the other side.

Henya appears to have no assigned Twitch crewmember to wrangle attendees, only her manager (presumably) to deal with everything. There's a barrier between her station and the thoroughfare. The assailant walks around this when he's ejected. He presumably did the same to approach, apparently not in line for Henya to begin with. Emiru's statement mentions the assailant cutting across Henya's station. I suspect that the vtuber station itself might be intended as a sort of barrier between the thoroughfare and the other stations with in-person guests.

After the incident, a barrier is put up between Emiru's and Henya's stations, and the bodyguard stands much closer to Emiru.

Immediately after the incident, a big guy with no badge walks across the stations and talks on a phone as well as with Emiru's manager. Possibly security or some other authoritative figure. The woman with the manager following the incident is probably the friend mentioned in Emiru's statement. I'm puzzled about if this guy fits in with what she says.
