I won't be the one to jump down it but the world of what happens to items involved with civil forfeiture seems like quite the rabbit hole.
I'll say it, the cops and stuff take them, drugs, cars, all that. Sell them, keep as trophies, that's what they all do with anything taken 'off the streets'.

What actually happens to these guns? Are they just destroyed? Can they be resold? Do they "disappear" because a corrupt cop resold them himself? Do we just send them to whatever insurgency we're currently propping up in South America or the Middle East?
They're supposed to have the metal parts melted down but you could easily disable a gun with a drill and metal rated drill bit. Second option would be assuming law enforcement is clever, efficient, and trying to save on costs.

Most slaves were needed for about 2 weeks a year for picking season, maybe a bit for planting. The challenge for slave owners was how to warehouse those people at the cheapest per-unit cost for the other 50 weeks.
Dont forget the ever useful house nigger though. They got to work year round.

I was reliably told tariffs would ruin the economy!

The only things it seems tariffs have done so far is make everything a bit more expensive and give trump a whole lot of negotiating power. Pretty much what we all expected when we voted for him.

Hopefully we as citizens actually see some beneficial investments or returns from these tariffs. Even shrinking the nat debt would be nice, but I'm not holding out hope.

I'm probably one of the only posters here who thinks the Confederate worship by conservatives is fucking stupid. I don't think we should remove statues and change the names of stuff, since that's commie-style erasure and does nothing but ignore our country's history. That said, it's absolutely wild to me that people like Robert Gould Shaw are ignored while Braxton Bragg got a military base named after him.
Think of it like this; I completely agree with your first point about revisionist history through removing and condemning historical figures. That's why it's important with naming bases/streets/monuments because of the Democrats get their way, the Confederacy would practically be blacked out of existence beyond racist, evil boogeymen with no context or understanding of HOW and WHY the Confederacy was formed, then disbanded.

If Joan Crawford can be vilified from a beloved actress to an axe-wielding, child rearing abuser or Ingrid Bergman be exiled and condemned as an adulterer, what would stop anybody else doing the same against somebody else for whatever reason?

Depends. A lot of slaves were put to other tasks during the winter, such as low-skilled construction labor. If there was livestock though then there was no change, there is no off-season with cattle, hogs, goats and whatnot. In fact it gets tedious in the winter, you have to move them every day and moving them can be a bitch. If there's a lot of calves and you're by yourself like I was earlier they can be stubborn and you have to time it right while the mamas are distracted with the bait feed. I was chasing them around on the gator earlier today, in fact. I'm glad a lot of the calves are going to be gone soon, I'll tell you that.

Ok, I usually don't directly do this, but this is one of the most disgusting takes on DU I've ever seem.

These old geezers there are hellish demons. Never forget how they think of you.

And then the 'oh Trump's nazi' sign celebration on another thread there.

All bills for raising revenue must originate in the House. There is currently no bill that has cleared both the House and Senate. A judge can cry about it, but he can't force Congress to write and pass legislation.
for once, something a judge absolutely cannot do. there's no chance in hell any judge on earth could bully both houses of congress to agree on anything. they might actually decide to limit judicial power if the judges get too uppity about this shit, just to retain their own immunity from being forced to work. the shutdown truly grows more interesting by the day.

They get processed like anything else and if legal and serialized several things can happen. Cops sometimes take them for themselves if the precinct allows it. They can also be sold to individuals, donated to the military or be sold internationally. During the second year of the Russia/Ukraine war some police precincts were selling their confiscated guns to Ukraine through some kinda of government weapons exchange program. I'm not sure if federal police are the same as local but I assume it's pretty similar.

Well that's just it, machines exist to pick tobacco but they can't do what a live person does. It's 2025 and we still haven't invented a machine that can pick tobacco in the manner those farmers need it to be done. Machines don't see what a person sees, you know? It's about quality control.
@Amaru I can tell you without a single doubt that anything can be automated without sacrificing quality, present me any job and I'll show you a robot that can do it. Also lacking automation for picking tobacco of all things is not a good justification to bring back slavery, nothing is. I don't know if you actually believe slavery is good or just want to get an own on the niggers. Either way slavery as a practice is a poison to society. The immediate effect is that you get cheaper labor and a gaggle of niggers. The long term knock on effects are you destroy industries by devaluing those labor sectors, you bring in a flood of niggers, and you as a society become dependent on slavery forever. Slavery has lead to the collapse of every great empire and if I could travel back in time I would sink the slave ships before they ever reached the coast of the new world. Slavery isn't a solution to any problems we're faced with. The only thing slavery ever did for the United States is bring us Problems, mainly niggers, so don't be surprised that I don't ever want that to become a practice again.

The Democrats deserve to be demonized in history, not erased from history. It's important that it's widely known across all of America the damage to this country the Democrats are responsible for.

One thing that's for sure is you can't be sympathetic to the Confederacy and also be pro Trump at this very moment, you would have no choice but to side with Pritzker and Newsome because they stand for the same exact things the Confederacy stood for. The Confederates would have pissed their pants seething about their mexican slaves being taken away from them just like Newsome and Pritzker, and they would also be seething about the National Guard being sent to their cities against their orders because "muh state's rights", they would be calling Trump a dictator fascist just like all the leftists today. They would be ready to kill all MAGA supporters easily just like they were ready to kill the Republican Union in their day.

When radical progressives today continually fail to stop Trump they go straight to trying to assassinate the President, just like the Confederacy did except this is the one thing the Confederacy actually succeeded at.
This is a gross misconception that paints Newsome, Pritzker and other democrats in a positive light.

First, slaves were not illegals. They were property of their owners. Who had a right to have their property in America. Illegal aliens might be treated as slaves, but they have no legal right to be in America, as much as democrats would wish. Their removal isn't the same as freeing enslaved africans.

Second, the state's rights that the confederacy was determined to uphold was their power to leave the union at their discretion. A matter that hasn't ever been decided because no former confederate was tried for treason, or convicted of such. This stands in stark contrast to the democrats cries about federal agents being used to protect federal property against criminals. Neither Newsome or Pritzker is talking about their state's right to leave the union, nor are they advocating for such.

Third, the confederacy didn't assassinate Lincoln. That was the action of a terrorist that was condemned by most Americans, union or confederate. And occurred after the confederacy began to surrender. Lee surrender to Grant April 9th. Lincoln wasn't assassinated until April 14th.

She lost with the magical fraud number of 49.5% after the Maricopa County fuck fuck games. She's popular with MAGA and is hated by the RINO's and McCain's that run the Republican political machine in the State.
Yeah, the Maricopa county vote recorder was a Mcain republican that helped to fuck her over in the governor race due to how she primaried the Mcain heiress. Hopefully over the deccade that machine's power has evaporated from it's inability to get any high-ranking office in Arizona.

Once AI started surpassing expectations across all metrics they decided to pull the plug and trump was the way to make this look organic.
you must be smoking crack. AI is consistently found to lower worker productivity. companies have no fucking idea how to actually implement LLMs into their workflow in an effective way, and both jeets and LLMs are incapable of doing legitimate coding, which is why you see people making fun of 'vibes coding', the practice LLMs and jeets both use.

really, their levels of intelligence are fairly close, with LLMs taking the crown just a bit more than the jeets.

That's the Feds, not the State of Texas:

Of course the antifa is a troon.
Good, glad to see it happening. Wonder if gofundme will take down the inevitable legal defense fund for the troon.

Sometimes they're sold (random marketplace, but those guns are listed from a police department far as I can see), but generally not to the public, just registered arms retailers. However, a lot of the seized guns are probably defaced, damaged or modified (Switches, etc) that would basically mandate destroying them.

Super super easy mistake to make. Mitch is an iconic dude in kentucky, it's hard to explain exactly why he has the strong support he does. he's been a king maker for most of my adult life. Just to show how far his tendrils reach, both the guys (andy barr and daniel cameron) have ties to him. DC worked in his office for awhile, and barr did as well. hell, it goes deeper too, the judge seat in eastern ky.. taht's going to chad meredith, steve meredith's son.. steve meredith and mitch are old friends.
I assume it's just the power of a well entrenched political machine like with the Alaskan Senator. He's the guy with access to the funds and connections around the state to grease the wheels for any future political career in the state.
