I don't even think that's it. People are easily led astray by comfort and convenience. As a demographic, women have seen what happens when you get a well-paying job: you get a lot of money and the ability to basically do whatever you want, especially if you are single with no dependents. This is appealing to a lot of people, especially when they are young.
