I'm not 100% sure on the story. It's been about a year and I was pretty contained to the writing chat. I believe the original developer wasn't supportive enough of the trans agenda and the community manager who was transgender and group of pro-transgender developers organized a "riot" in the discord then developed into them issuing a ultimatum for him to hand over control and leave. Which he complied with, because felt like he had no choice.

Since then they have cut back massively the original scope was Mexico and the Philippines which they have drop. Even though I was told that the majority of the coding was done for those countries and the writing was all that was left. Supposedly the majority of the writing for CSA, MacArthur America and PSA was completed and AUS and Southern alliance of governors was all that was left to write. From what I can tell they are reworking almost everything and develop as dried up. But I could be wrong.
 
Kaya is nearly complete. This isn't quite Kishi but it's about as close as you'll get for quite awhile. By the end of the hardliner path, Kishi is running Japan in all but name. Both sides of the path are quite good or at least decent. You also get a lot, and i really do mean a lot, of free arms factories, military bonuses, and professionalism regardless of path..

I've also managed to get some of the dynamic TT tooltips working for the economy. Well, the display numbers for misc income need to be finetuned because 1 in TT numbers is one billion and one in Pre-TT numbers is 1 million (i'm pretty sure) so the actual numbers in that focus are much smaller. (I'm using Misc Income effects to stand in for the TT tax policy and administrative effectiveness SocDev and i haven't balanced them yet)

Also for some reason both of the new leader portraits for Fukuda and Shiina are refusing to load. I've done it exactly like the other create leader functions which do load the portraits and the files are there, in the correct folder (gfx\leaders\JAP) Does anyone have an idea what's going on here? Their minister icons work fine.

The single time I tried writing for a mod
Scratch that. I'm writing for Army of God now.
Here's how the department works:

1. ask you to write something for a specific country, or you write something you came up with.

2. I put it in the game and add your username in the credits
Do you have a document megalist of needed loc / events, or is it just shit you make up on the spot to make us go away, much like an unattentive father?

I started to tune out by the time that they said they'd erase all legacy content. Don't think I've ever seen a mod wreck itself like that.

The real comparison would be to have the mainline TNO one be matched up with their rework plans. The only reason it doesn't look as grim as it could is because it's been stuck in dev hell for years. Just adding an approximation of what DV will look in it will make both RA and R shine like diamonds even to the dimmest normie.

I don't have a physical document, but I do have some localization I would like done. Mainly flavor events for Russia and Germany and also localizing cut content like Croatia and Egypt.
Does anyone know how to get Speidel in TNO:RA? I fancy giving it a shot. I get a feeling it's locked behind a fail state in Goerings campaign?

Was this for base KR? What changes were they going to make for the factions? I doubt it would have been as fun or kino as what Kaiserredux did(I know it was originally an independent submod before KX integrated it).

Yes, to was for based KR. They still have a Discord and a Reddit if you want to look at yourself.

From what I remember they were going to be multiple different variations of the Civil War depending on choices made before the Civil War began similar to how KR newest Rework does it. They were going to be at least 5 main factions not counting New England. MacArthur, Long, the reds, Pacific States and the Southern states. The southern states and the Pacific States were connected to how the Civil War started and how dysfunctional American politics was before the "collapse."

Each fractions we're going to have multiple different paths and subpaths, like for example Long could be overthrown by technocracy.inc in a AUS Totalist path, but that could only be possible through a player interaction. They were going to be multiple different American military dictators, Presidents with small trees going to like 1952. Etc.

I was just a writer so I wasn't very entrenched with the development. I wasn't even in the developer's Discord if there was one. I was in a Discord group chat with main writer and he would issue out what events, descriptions and etc needed to be worked on.
 
Playing TNO rises again, this such a nostalgic ride but I'm beginning to understand why certain things will change. I forgot how badly Vichy France gets fuck over by burgundy. I cannot imagine how you can make that experience fun. But still this is a great mod. Looking forward to more updates

IMO, I do like the idea of having Himmler as as a Fuhrer of Germany where if he wins the GCW then he can do all the funni Global Plans. But that sets a bad precedent for endless rewoooooorking so I'd rather keep things the same for the most part.

Yeah, there's things that if I was good at hoi4 modding I would change with Germany and Germany sphere but it would fundamentally change the mod to the point that it would it be in the original spirit of "TNO"

Great tragedies make for better stories. If nothing ever happens and France starts off as strong and prosperous then there are no possibilities for radical change and no challenges to overcome. Sure you can gdpmaxx or trigger a civil war but with Burgundy removed and atlantropa gone the stakes are much lower and it doesn't feel as meaningful as it used to

Looking at the game right now, I would probably just let the French keep the states of Centre-Sud, Vichy, Rhone, Alpenland and Vallon-Pont-d'Arc.

Except this is all bullshit and there's was no way of winning in this piece of shit mod (Troon New Order) without using the console to cheat.

I don't understand. For me it's the exact opposite. Having a bad situation means that there's a lot of room to make fun paths. Russian warlords start in even worse conditions yet they're considered to be one of the best parts of TNO. Old France had a clear pacing (recover from first war, war with brittany, reclaim burgundy, diplomacy with Germany/italy for lost lands). Now that it's all gone I can't even imagine a fun path for nuFrance would look like.
