Mald is currently playing some shitty mobile looking MMORPG, too bad the reviews suck he probably wont stay long enough for some drama to come out of it. But dont count it out.

Oh he's playing the 'remade' blue protocol. Was an anime mmorpg developed by bandai namco who decided to partner with amazon to release it globally. Not sure what exactly happened but apparently amazon fucked with it to meet their 'global standards'. I remember it having something to do with black characters/genders and censorship so it ended up floundering early due to negative press and it apparently upset bamco so much they even cancelled their own jp servers. My guess they wanted it to go big like genshin but amazon fucked it up.

Then years later the ip got transferred to a chinese company (tencent owned) somehow who then resurrected it as some kind of auto grind mmo of pure slop (but published by some japanese company called a1?) Iirc the main selling point of the initial game was it was a pure action mmo so I imagine it getting turned into a typical mobile mmo where you have auto quest button must be disappointing for people who was looking forward to it.

Anyway, I notice that every time mald streams some random game on twitch that isn't predictably big (lol, dota, fortnite, apex, wow, etc) he's usually one of the biggest streamers for that game. Isn't that actually pretty fucking grim for twitch? That sounds like the website is actually kinda...dead?

Not really. As shitty as twitch is, and as shitty as Mald is, he's still in something like the top 0.02% of streamers on that site, and he does it when half of his potential audience is asleep as part of his big brain play to be the most popular streamer when no one else is streaming. Remember, his streaming on weekdays is mostly entirely while the US is asleep or at work/school, and when his UK audience is at work/school.

It's like claiming that an infomercial has the best ratings on broadcast TV at 3am on a Tuesday when no one is watching anything. Like right now if you filter English only, and current viewers high to low, he's still at 26th place on the site, and two of those channels at twice his viewership are literally just someone AFK sleeping without even vod re-runs or whatever on screen.

edit: ffs, got it wrong again. It's not 1, not 2, but 3 channels of people asleep and beating his viewership while raking in subs and ad revenue(because the streams are running ads).

The original Blue Protocol ending up dead in the water was primarily Bandai Namco's fault, owing to their in-house studios both having no knowledge on how to make a modern MMO and essentially making two games in one development cycle (because they made the insane decision of rebuilding the entire fucking game from the ground up due to the CBT garnering terrible reception). These are the same devs who also thought that,

• Making a deliberately terrible and clunky hub would make players use it more (they didn't)
• Making an easily navigable hub would have no point because it'd just be a menu (the game had infamously terrible menus)
• In-game chat was the only endgame content you needed (and because of that and the game generally having nothing to offer all around, there was just nothing to do)

It was just a bad MMO; nothing more, nothing less (albeit one so bad that Bamco was forced to sell all of their stock in Toei Animation just to keep them out of the red and the IP was sold to the Chinese with zero fanfare afterward). Culture war had nothing to do with it as far as I'm aware.

Definitely wasn't a culture war thing. Game had already died in Japan before Amazon's western version got off the ground. Negative western press wouldn't have even had an impact on the JP side simply because they didn't have a reason to give a shit but had already been bored with the JP version for a year.

I see, I wasn't interested in it so all I ever saw was the...marketing or something? Like they changed the custom character used in the trailers into a black character or something. I honestly don't even remember where I saw it from since I don't even sub to any culture war slop or any mmo channel. Pretty sure I'm aware of this game because of a channel like steparu.

The nigger's BF6 detour was the live embodiment of the n00b from the BFF series... loud, obnoxious and pretty much he acted like a tourist.

His play consisted of either re-spawn -> try to frag somebody w a rocket launcher -> die -> repeat, or ran around as a medic and farm res. I think i can count on one hand how much gun kill he had on that 3,5 hour bf segment. It was so surreal to witness that moron playing bf6 and its not like he is noob in that specific game, but he acted like a fucking tourist in the whole FPS genre.

You can rip his game play footage, slap a live feed from a 90 years old grandma on her death bed over mald face cam and you can't tell the difference.

As for the complaining part, no the nigger is oozed, radiated from blissful ignorance, i think he had some "fun" like a toddler have some fun with a shiny dangling key chain but as an entertainer / streamer angle he was so insufferable to watch, 0 content, 0 personality, 0 skill, 0 action... In retrospective i think that stream segment more likely for propping up kronos as a streamer instead of mald trying to milk his audience whit his know-it-all facade.
