That's insane. Apparently 10 vehicles were involved in the ambush, and I don't know exactly what "no officers were seriously injured" means, but they were taking fire.

Probably still too early to say, are Chicago police actually not cooperating? Will the governor double down? I am torn between the wisdom of Chudha and the flagrancy of this action. At this point, if nothing happens, it's pretty embarrassing. It's not hard to argue for martial law.

The first thing that'll happen is that ICE and other federal police will stop pussyfooting around Antifa riots. Once it goes from "these are losers screaming and crying" to "These are bands ambushing and murdering agents with lethal intent" they won't hold back. They're not robots, they're people, and they're going to be acutely aware that if it happened to the people in that ambush for not shooting first, it could happen to them next.

The real question then will be the normie response, really depends how the media coverage of the initial ambush goes. If it gets the same sentiment as Kirk in so far as "That is incredibly fucked up and I can't believe you'd even joke about it being a good thing" then there's a decent chance they see ICE responding to "attempted ambushes" with lethal force in the future as the ghouls trying to be even worse rather than ICE being trigger happy.

More money and more power to any one party in politics works best for the citizenship of a Constitutional Republic. We use to be one party pretending to be two. Now they get to stop pretending. That should free up some time to do more fundraising and send yet another email off about how they need more of your money to do things they’ve been promising to do for decades. They can fit in a few more lunches and dinners with lobbyists. Maybe take an extra trip to Israel this year.

Every local R i have seen has been useless. They dont canvass, they dont run events. They are old and alot of them supported fucking Dubya. They are lose with dignity types. They run the Facebook page send some mailers and do fuck all.

Meanwhile local Dems run door to door campaigns, are blowing up my cell phones, working with churches and doing stuff.

The most successful ground game in Pennsylvania was run by a "faggot" who had to teach them how to basic stuff.

Also the vast majority of those "10k donors" are local businesses just making sure the R takes a phone call when they need some shit smoothed over. Pajeetar who owns the gas station is making sure the politician will yell at the cops if his shit gets robbed. Not some deep ideological alignment with the GOP other than "less taxes on me is good and the Dems give out gibs to the niggers not me".

Local pol Rs are some of the laziest motherfuckers i have met in my life. If you think Rino infection is bad for the Federal government. Well oh boy go check out your local politician. Its the exact opposite problem the Dems have where all the local foot soldiers are ideologically committed.

Specifically, this is what the bill does:
A social media platform that violates Section 51.7, 51.9, 52, or 52.1 through its algorithms that relay content to users or aids, abets, acts in concert, or conspires in a violation of any of those sections, or is a joint tortfeasor in a violation of any of those sections, shall, in addition to any other remedy, be liable to a prevailing plaintiff for a civil penalty for each violation sufficient to deter future violations

Section 51.7 is threatening violence: "because of political affiliation, or on account of any characteristic listed or defined in subdivision (b) or (e) of Section 51, or position in a labor dispute, or because another person perceives them to have one or more of those characteristics"
Section 51.9 is sexual harassment.

Section 52 is a fairly broad anti-discrimination statute.

Section 52.1 is a statute allowing suit when rights secured by law/the Constitution are denied to a person.

The problem is, I don't see how this is not preempted by federal law. Section 230 should provide immunity in almost every situation in which this bill applies. A website "abets" a person to threaten violence by allowing the retarded person to make a post. But as long as Section 230 applies, federal law will preempt the state law. You'd pretty much have to have a website dedicated to threatening violence, posting revenge porn, etc. for this statute to get around Section 230.

There are probably also vagueness and overbreadth issues. What does a website owner have to do to not "abet" its users in engaging in threats of violence?

And perhaps the thing that stands out most to me (though who knows what crazy California judges will construe the bill)—the statute refers to websites using "algorithms." What does that mean? Does a traditional forum use an "algorithm" to show content to users? Do the automatic thread highlights on KF count as "algorithms that relay content to users"? Does a table showing active threads on the KF homepage count as an "algorithm[] that relay content to users"? I have no clue, and unless it's clarified somewhere in law, I doubt anybody else does.

They don’t even run their own social media pages or answer their constituents e-mails. LOL.

We run them, we answer the e-mails, we try to fix their problems and force these politicians to care.

It’s rich when the average local voter will argue with me and get mortally offended when I tell them that these politicians don’t care about them. Little do they suspect, it’s so much worse than that. They despise them and think they’re stupid. They resent every email, call and bother from their voters, who they now see as so very far below them, even though they were one of them even a few short years ago.
