Okay here's my take. Austin calls for crack, crypto in hand. As he waits he does just a bit of gamba to double the money. Is now broke. Derrick shows up crack in hand but no money, he gives bossman the crack and calls the law. One less terrible customer.

Austin owes Derrick $10k. The chance of Austin paying Derrick back are quite high because Austin depends on Derrick for crack and is very, very afraid of Derrick.
Even though Austin doesn't have the money "right now", he will make sure to get them eventually. When push comes to shove he will sell everything he has, plus whatever valuable thing he can get his hands on around the house.
If something happens to Austin he can't pay his debt. If Austin gets arrested Derrick is checkmate. Can't even intimidate him because Austin can't leave jail and go pawn any valuables, beg for juicers, gamble, anything. The worst thing that could happen is Austin dying, second worst is Austin getting arrested. Derrick's funds are frozen indefinitely with Austin's arrest. A plug of high stature as Derrick would never freeze his assets in such a retarded manner. There's nothing he can do to get his money back. Derrick is pretty much stuck at discord loaner level now. All he can do is wait and hope.
What's Derrick gonna do? Go to his parents house and demand the money from them? And then what? Cops get involved, shit hits the fan, there's tons of heat on Derrick's ass for what...10k? Derrick has been around long enough to know people like Ratdad would call the cops, give full description and skip town for a month or two. Meanwhile Derrick will be losing sleep.
No chance in hell Derrick had anything to do with Bossman's retarded arrest. Most likely some discord rat ratted him out and they were waiting for him to come home. Or they had this whole thing planned and just waited to strike. But Derrick ratting on his best customer and most retarded debtor is out of the question the way I see it.
