Just another example of DSP flip-flopping to whatever the status quo is, as long as it benefits him or protects him against something. Just like the "you shouldn't say retard"-thing he was doing, also during the Twitch days. His morals and opinions are as fickle as the weather.

This marathon is already one of the worst. Chat is dead, support is low and DSP is surprised a shit game is shit.

"Gollum isn't actually bad it's just super boring with nothing to do and I'm falling asleep and bitching about how this game has nothing to do but it's not bad just totally unfun" Uh because it has nothing to do and is no fun is what makes it bad.

He was mad Gollum was boring and didn't provide any entertainment value. He genuinely thinks he can just load up a bad game and the video will automatically be entertaining without any effort on his part. Extremely dented. He also said Gollum wasn't bad, just boring, and that other streamers only played it so they could make viral videos. Unlike him, ofcourse. 2 years late to the party.

Every time I come here to see what’s new with Phil, I’m never surprised. The most surprising thing, I will say, is how someone can take the time to hate on Phil, but also give him money.

You are not a troll, you are a fan. You are not even a “dentractor”, you’re literally and simply just a real and honest fan of Phil’s. And retarded.

What gets me is, why won’t they just admit to being a fan? Why isn’t there some group for these fake trolls who have a crush on him irl? I’d say that’s what the discord is for, but these people take time to watch, complain, watch and complain, then give money??? YOU ARE ONE OF HIS ONLY REAL FANS!

His commentary is just horrible, he's playing gollum and all he has to say is "uhh, it's bad".

It's almost like you need some kind of knowledge of what makes a "good game" good in the first place to comment a bad game outside of "it looks bad" and "it's boring".

What is concerning is how he's still not capable of commenting on games despite the number of games he's played over the years. You'd think with time he'd have learned something.

I genuinely think the years of brain-melting gaming and not actually caring about games has made him numb to being able to separate games into categories in his head. His opinions of them don’t even really make sense half the time, whether you’re an actual gamer or not.

It's like a weighting system. Obviously games that successfully draw whales have the highest weight. Then you've got perceived relevancy, or what he thinks will draw people to give money; so hot new releases and sequels to games that have been previous high earners get high weight. After that is how braindead it is for Phil to play, so walking simulators, JRPGs, games he plays on easy difficulty get high weights.

He's been doing this almost 20 years. He STILL doesn't understand that the streamer is supposed to be the entertainment. People play these shit games constantly and it is entertaining because the streamer makes it entertaining. Why even do a "Bad Games" stream if you expect the game itself to be the entertainment? They're bad because they aren't entertaining. Even " So bad it's good" games require the person playing to make it entertaining.

Gollum was like the GOTY for streamers who are entertaining they were going super viral and making bank.

He is so inept that he doesn't understand how to stream bad games. He should be laughing, having a good time, and leaning into how bad a specific game is. Instead he is sitting there like a rock, scanning chat, and looking up guides. He really is one of the worst streamers on the planet.
 
This game being as bare bones as it is really shines a light on how shit of a streamer Phil is. There's no pretty graphics or music to fill in all his dead air. Just him giving his commentary for the blind.

To be fair there seem to be multiple off-brand two buttons controllers for the atari 2600 but I doubt he had one as according to the atari compendium they are pretty rare. Anyway all of that just to say he's being a poser once again.

I love the double standards about emulation, "emulation is haram except if I'm doing it on a website"
 
The pre-stream started at 11:35am and it's now past 3:35pm, so he has been streaming for 4 hours. He played Gollem for 1 hour and 4 minutes, and E.T. for 38 minutes, making the total gameplay duration a meager 1 hour and 42 minutes out of the 4 hours of streaming in total. For something that's supposed to be a gaming marathon, that's absolutely atrocious.

And now he's doubling down by refusing to play the next game, "because the food arrives in 30 minutes". He's really adding another 30-minute yapping segment on top of all this, before eating (again, still not playing a game).



He's doing everything he possibly can to play games as little as possible.
