I also wonder about the veracity of this collected data. There are some sites that will post their trends for anyone to see, and also some that will post stats for nerds. You can probably also subpoena or formally request their information/streaming trends as a researcher. I've had to do that as a researcher myself--not with porn sites but with other popular sites and basically sending a formal email or calling them with a "plz give info for verified and publishable reasons."
