It's redditor logic. They feel bad about laughing at someone because that is not what reddit deems as 'good', they cannot laugh at someone without being a bad guy even if what they post is objectively funny. You see it a lot in deadwing dork's stuff, he gets a lot of people saying not to laugh at something because it's mean or some shit. So they need to make sure that they are the good guys otherwise the redditors will turn on them. Easiest way to do that is performative grandstanding bullshit. If you end a bossman video about how it's wrong to gamble and stake is killing people then the redditors forget that you spent the past 15 minutes laughing and mocking the disabled and addicted. They have to be 'good' people, so they will try to put forward that idea while trying to still get all the money possible. They're not making lolcow content, they're making documentaries on why drinking 5L of rum a day is bad for you. That's why they will go on about the bearded dragon or how nova touches kids or whatever. Redditors need to feel justified in mocking people, be that because of politics or some dumb shit that happened 20 years ago or something that should just be in a fucking police report not a youtube video. If you made good old fashioned lolcow content it will remain under 10k subs and just be niche unprofitable shit. If you make old style metokur videos you get an army of angry redditors and end up getting your channel deleted because you laughed at bowblax too hard. People like seeing other's be the victim of bullying, that's just how shit works, it feels good to feel better than someone else either by directly bullying them or through someone else. But society has been mindraped in to believing that bullying is basically genocide so people without any critical thinking skills will just go along with that so do not ever want to support a bully. This preachy safe lolcow content is a way to be both bullying but also not come across as a bully.I really don't understand why they act so moral about things.
