If Juju's ego allowed it, he could throw himself at the mercy of the online sektard public and disown his pedophile associates and disavow his own actions and mean it.
People love a redemption arc.

Thankfully, this is impossible due to his unwarranted self importance and his reputation as a lier and implyer.

Because his comics are mid and he doesn't deserve his success or something. Meanwhile Dax cosigned Vito's campaign and his book is hot garbage which is over a year late at this point.
Erics comics are shit and he was selling this whole idea of his own comic universe similar to Marvel that he tricked dumbasses into investing into. The one thing ill credit Vito on is he was selling the idea of just making 1 single book over an entire fake ass universe. He never told people he would be franchising this thing out to make a whole Killerverse.

Be that as it may Eric's shitty comic actually exists, Vito's doesn't.

He tricked people into buying into a comic book universe by taking their money for finished products, shipping them as promised, and continually outputting products that the customer base buys?

I don’t get the Eric July haters. If you don’t like his comics, just say you don’t like his comics. Trying to aggrandize him into some evil villain tricking people into giving him money is the most retarded argument you can make, because it’s obviously nonsensical and as a result it reveals that your problems with him aren’t just mere artistic critique. It just backfires on you to make such dumb arguments.

For example, I’m not a fan of any media with giant robots that people pilot. I just don’t get it and think anything with a gundam-esque robot is goofy and retarded. I don’t spend money on it and have zero interest in any media involving it. But I don’t try and create some bullshit narrative about how it’s actually some evil motif or genre that is designed to trick customers into giving away their money. And I don’t twist myself into a pretzel to explain away how so many customers consistently spend money on that type of property. I just ignore it and call it goofy. It’s that easy.

Why do you fags keep trying to insist Eric is the fuck up? Drink bleach and fuck off

Oh, I may have words for you too, pal

Now if patreon did one of those forced "confirm opt in to our service" thingies for some regulatory reason, the subsequent losses to various lolcows would be fucking hilarious.....

Patreon are greedy fucks, so not likely without a regulatory hammer.
I agree. I’m sure Patreon takes in millions per month in fees for abandoned projects.
I just find it so weird that we know next to nothing about his life until about 2007ish.
Throughout the thread people have done the research. Long story short, he went to Caltech, may or may not have graduated, and then worked with his dad on various small businesses that came and went overnight. He called himself “The Hammer” and created a Winamp skin featuring himself. I think the reason why he seems like an unknown is much of the internet from the early and mid 2000s is gone. Plus he worked for his dad at these fly by night businesses. He was on track to just be a boring middle class guy.

One missing piece is why he created the Dick Masterson persona. Everything else was figured out. He was just an unremarkable white-presenting spic for most of his 20s.

Thanks, I'll have to go back and see if I can find those posts. From my research, he was a cider at several SEO optimization firms until like 2010.

I am not insisting Eric is a fuck up but his comics aren't good. At best they come across like extremely generic mid 2000s comics and slightly better than the worst wokeslop Marvel tried to do in the early 2010s like Patsy Walker Hellcat.
The people that get Eric's comics usually have a somewhat positive opinion of them (never read them myself as the designs do not appeal to me). Not excellent but not bad either. Good, decent, average, mediocre. Those are the general consensus on them. Calling them slightly better than wokeslop that actively insult the audience, are filled with strawmen, have heroes that are worse than villains and writing with more holes than Swiss Cheese on a hedgehog does not sound right to me. I might have not read Eric's comics but I have read Marvel and DC wokeslop and saying a comic by a normal man that is trying his best to make a good product is only slightly better than that feels very dishonest to me.

I'm almost positive it all goes back to the book. He started the persona and the blog at the same time and retrospectively the whole thing was clearly an attempt to launch the book and turn "Dick Masterson" into an ongoing comedy act/publishing persona.

I thought that was more of the 2010s before he started podcasting full time for a living.
You have nothing relevant to contribute to the thread, in other words
Dickheads know they can’t praise Maddax, that would just get them dogpiled and given mean and hurtful stickers. So the next best thing is to attack the same targets Maddax is targeting, which is what we see here. A lot of vitriol has been spewed about a guy making mediocre comics in this thread from people who want to take up Maddax’s fight. Seems gay to me.

I didn’t know or think there was anything that led up to the book. If it is, it’s long gone. I agree that it was definitely an attempt to launch a comedy career.

It's a funny thing that Maddax became instantly less funny when you realized he was actually the repulsive dick you thought he was just trolling as, while Maddox became instantly less funny when you realized that his own adopted persona was bogus and he was actually a bald Armenian cuck with a whiny nasal voice and not a swashbuckling pirate.

I mean unless you were a retard you had to know Maddox was doing an act, but having the actual Geourge Ouzounian in your face just totally wrecked the suspension of disbelief. And realizing Dick Masterson was just a more macho version of the actual Diddler Dax made you realize what a cow he is.

Oh brother, another day another Eric July hater repeating the usual gossip and dishonesty....sheesh, you would think after all the people that have said otherwise by now, that you all would give it a rest already. If you don't like Eric July that's fine you don't have to, if you don't like the comics that's also fine, but to actually say all that with a straight face and expect anyone that DOESN'T hate him to believe it at this point after everything leading up to today is just..... yeah I wouldn't count on that if I were you. Seriously it's NOT that hard to just find something you do like, and ignore and move on from things that you don't. All that bullshit you got from Juju or whoever the hell you're repeating has been spewed for over 3 years now, I think it's time to clean it all up because nobody who DOESN'T hate on him for the sad reasons you all give wants to smell it anymore....especially now.

The people that get Eric's comics usually have a somewhat positive opinion of them (never read them myself as the designs do not appeal to me). Not excellent but not bad either. I read them, and yes you are correct. Almost everyone who read them agrees with the opinions you repeated about them from not excellent but not bad, all the way to mediocre, but NONE of them agreed that they were only slightly better than wokeslop, as well as the strawmen, the hero's being worse than the villains, and especially the writing narrative these people like to repeat for some reason. Yes this guy was being dishonest, and if they were really that bad the Rippaverse would have closed down a long time ago. I'll never understand why they try to damage the brand so much, but it's not doing them any good at this point. It's really not hard to find something they do like and ignore the things they don't...I do it all the time in fact.

Speaking of Dick Masterson "and I apologize for the double post" it looks like he deleted all of his comments past August 26th. Any idea why? Or is it just me that sees it that way?

Dick has always had a habit of deleting tweets, or at least he did years ago. He was a strong advocate of tweet delete.

Why though? Especially the most recent ones. He even deleted his review of both Superkiller and all 3 Isoms "not that I would believe anything he said about them, after all he's not known for his honesty" I'm guessing he got more backlash then he expected from them. But I could be wrong.

I assume right now is because of the Vito shit or whatever. The original reason for the tweet deletion 5+ years ago was that he doesn't think tweets should be permanent. The logic being cancel culture was rising and a back catalogue of tweets was really only ever good for digging up dirt.
