Batteries are still useful for Nuclear power as well. Nuclear is incredibly great at putting out a consistent amount of power, but actual load varies a lot based around when humans are using that power. Using batteries to smooth that out can be more economical than trying to adjust the output from nuclear plants or using other sources of generation to supplement them. That's the reason all of the companies running AI data centers want to built nuclear. Those centers run at a near fixed load around the clock which nuclear is great for.

Gore ran probably the worst campaign possible. All he had to do was associate himself with Clinton, who still had pretty favorable popularity, and he'd have cruised. Instead he went on his own when he had the charisma of a cardboard box. Although even if he does win, he probably loses in 2004 due to having zero charisma.

Living in an alternate timeline where Gore won in 2000 and had to deal with 9/11 would be interesting to say the least. It may have well lead to a McCain presidency in 2004. Despite trying to distance himself from Clinton, Gore only did as well as he did riding off of the 90's being a reasonably good decade for everyone and people wanting to keep that going. There is something to be said about having different parties in control of the legislature and executive branches and it creating compromise.

100% agreed. I think if Gore wins, 9/11 still happens but Gore doesn't invade Iraq. Probably does the Afghan invasion, Bin Laden still gets away, etc... 2004 comes around and there's no Iraq war for the incumbent, Bin Laden is still free so McCain in 2004 is a very likely scenario. McCain also was pretty popular outside of Republicans before Bush, so he wouldn't have lost a ton of support by simping hard for W in his 2nd term and there'd be no disastrous 2008 crash before his run.

There's a difference between voting for someone and blindly worshipping and defending everything they do. A lot of people in this thread are the latter. They literally defend every thing Trump does. For example, in March, the tariffs were a "negotiating tactic" and they supported them. Then, "liberation day" happened and they were defending the tariffs and crashing the economy, saying the great reset was good. Then, tariffs were paused and then pausing the tariffs was a good thing. I'd imagine that when inflation from the tariffs begins to happen, they will defend rising prices, too, and say that prices going up is good.

You seem at least reasonable, so I hope you're in the former and not the latter like 98% of this thread where everything Trump does gets defended. It's a literal cult, like I said.
