ETA: I think there is some chance that had Nixon had a 2nd term instead of Ford/Carter the USSR and cold war would've ended earlier than it did. Carter really gave the USSR the boost it needed while their rot was getting bad.

OK I had a fucking day and I need to talk about it.

For years I would go to state parks and hike by myself, go down trails, wear my Merrells, bring my trail mix, listen to and be in and enjoy and appreciate the natural beauty of my state.

My girl, she's a city girl. So while I took her a few times, it wasn't the same, and I didn't enjoy it as much. I haven't had time or inclination to go to the parks in the past few years, probably not since 22'.

A few weeks ago she asked to go, so we did. A state park close to me, only about 20 miles from the city center. And it was filled with spics and jeets and I hated it. Walking a trail and seeing a woman in a hijab? Wtf is this? But whatever, it's close to some low income suburbs, and it's really a glorified park/playground than a place to hike.

Last night she said let's go today to another state park, way further north, close to 80 miles away. She wants to make it day trip, etc.

The area is gorgeous, and the demographics of those living there are white.

Without hyperbole, we were 2 of maybe 10 white people out of close to 500 people. Mostly spics, but also a tremendous amount of south east Asians. Bros, I watched a group of 50 men pray to mecca at a state park today, serenaded by short order cook music, and surrounded by egg shaped women and a quinceanera. None of this is exaggerated. We had to leave, we were shocked.

I am so tremendously angry that they destroyed my country. My girl said "it's like that video of Mall of America, and seeing only Somalis." we didn't think it could happen here and not this fast. I can't believe it!

I need them out of my country. I will vote for anyone, with any policies to get these mother fuckers out of my country. Why did our politicians do this to us? I don't understand it, they have children and grandchildren too, why would they do this to our country?

Literally weeks late on this but I wanted to say you're not alone in this. In fact from your description there's a half decent chance that the state park in question is my regular go-to place. You might as well be going to a foreign country if you visit my park on a weekend. I do most of my recreation during the weekdays, when it's mostly the white locals, but recently have been meeting people who can only get out on weekends, and it was a fucking gut punch of a reality check to see just how awful it's become. I went there on Memorial Day Monday, and it was very much as you described. I was actually getting some looks, as if to say "what is that ofay doing here". No spoken English, a cacophony of obnoxious noises I couldn't even identify. The ONLY whites were the park employees. I hope it isn't the same park, because while it's bad, the muslims praying would set off some alarm bells. Well, a few more to add to those that are already blaring.

I feel the same as you do, and I don't know what I can add to it. It is just awful.

I'd also like to mention non-human invasives, because I see the effects of it whenever I'm at this park, or just being outside, because they are changing the land in different but equally insidious ways. All of our ash trees are dead, thanks to emerald ash borers, beetles originating from China. All of our hemlocks, enormous, beautiful trees, are largely dead or dying because of another invasive from Asia, the adelgid beetle. Stiltweed is FUCKING EVERYWHERE now and it is completely changing the complexion of not only everyone's lawn but the entire forest floor. I saw my first spotted lanternflies a couple of days ago, I'm sure I'll be drowning in those fucking things soon enough. Chinese ladybugs swarm our houses trying to get inside when the temperature changes. Asian jumping worms have completely taken over the ground under our lawns. There's a bunch more but I don't even want to try to remember them right now, it's too depressing. Shit sucks beyond belief.

The world I grew up in was a very lovely world, at least as I experienced it. Was born in the area and never really left. It's decaying, with shocking speed, changing into something hideous and unrecognizable even before it's (arguably) dead, and I can see it happening daily. I can't put into words just how awful and depressing it all is.
